And what if neither of those things happen?

The point I was making that you missed is that fancy stats mean nothing if they aren't actually translating into tangible results. If you're sitting there looking at our play in suggesting that we're really good because of what stats say then it literally would make me laugh because we're not good. And you can sit there and say oh well We will be good once the power play and the goaltending pick up but then you're literally relying on the same formula as last year which was elite PowerPlay and elite goaltending. You can have a team sit in a zone and cycle and keep possession forever If they don't actually do anything with the puck and score goals then what are you actually accomplishing while you just cycle it around forever? In theory tire the other team out, but it's generally not working. We're struggling to be bad teams right now.

You can't watch this team right now and say to yourself "That's a real cup contender I'm watching" because they look like a wild card team
