that Kakko chance on the broken play, thats about it. We have no clue how to generate offense when all 5 are in the O-zone.
We are just not playing smart structured hockey. So, we're not causing enough turnovers, no odd man rushes. We're giving up too much space. We need more from our top 6, just in terms of smarts and structure. Getting pucks deep, working hard. Just simplify the game. Play smart, play structured, play hard. Bad line changes, not getting pucks in deep, not backchecking, floating, two defensemen pinching at the same time when we don't even have the puck. It's not exactly pond hockey, but it's just getting worse. Not better. Gallant and his staff need to realize it's not just about effort and skating but playing within a structure, having situational awareness, puck management, not puck watching on D or for that matter the PK which has been especially bad too. This team looks like any number of Rangers teams from over the years that just look like they're happy to score pretty goals and collect paychecks. It's seriously disheartening. you'd expect this kind of thing from a young team. But the biggest mistakes i'm seeing is coming from Kreider, Goody, Panarin, Trouba. And it's shocking. Troubs, Goody and Kreids are good players but they look a lot better on a team that plays with high structure. They of all players should know this is not going to work.

Also obligatory bad officiating post. Missing actual interference by Detroit only to call Fox, that first Trouba hold was soft as hell and missing Nedelka-whatever playing the puck outside the trapezoid before that Detroit goal.... Just another clown show all around for the stripes yet again.

Laf Chytil Kaako
Panarin Ziba Trochek
Vesey Goodrow Gauthier
Kreider Carp Blais

We're literally not losing
I think some of us have higher expectations than the garbage this team has generally put out there this season. It feels like every game we're just trying to convince ourselves that we're playing okay, but the goal here is to win a Stanley cup, and it seems like everybody on this board is pointing at that as well, yet we're constantly giving it the "it's okay ."

I do not care if/when we lose.

I care when it looks like half the team doesn't give a shit

Forget the poor coaching... that's a different aspect

if it's not a highlight reel goal, this team doesnt want it. it's like a homeless guy going 'pizza hut!? get that out of my face!'
It is pizza hut..can't really blame the homeless guy...its like 1 step above dog food

A few times we’ve had wingers cutting to the slot and open, and our D on the point hesitated and missed it and dumped it around the boards. They’re playing tentatively in the o zone off the cycle, even Fox. They have no problem forcefeeding Panarin though…

and at least last season, we played with more structure. We had to. We needed it to start believing in ourselves. Gallant gets fired after 2 or 3 years for a reason. And maybe this is it? I don't know for sure. But it's not even season 3 yet...

We were much, much worse last regular season.

Hell, we played like boiled crotch against Pittsburgh.

The showing against Carolina and the first two against Tampa created some short memories.

Wasn't Gallants best season with a team always the first season? Might remember wrong tho

I would be completely blown away if they fire him this year. I don't think that would be a good look for Drury considering the lack of depth he's giving him on the roster. And all reality, who's coming in here and suddenly fixing what we see while the roster has maybe four players on it that shouldn't even be in the NHL right now. They said this earlier in a week, this organization is slowly and indirectly gone the same direction that the leafs did when they were super top-heavy with a lot of weakness in the bottom areas of the lineup and that's starting to expose us more and more. The bigger issue is that the leafs did it by investing big money into younger players, and we've done it with a lot of older players. That's why I was complaining so much for the season started about the contracts. Don't care that we pay players but I do care that we pay a lot of players in the same age range that are going to start slipping at the same time. Right now even when some of them are accumulating some points they're still playing like absolute trash. I guess what I'm saying is that while Turk could be doing a better job here I think this goes farther than just the coach

Gallant and Quinn play identical hockey.... it's been executed the same exact way with this roster....

MAYBE.... try something else
Except under Quinn it seemed like the D were more active in the offensive zone and there was a gameplan other than playing the puck up the boards to the defenseman and settling for point shots. Just seems like a predictable plan of attack and they aren't opening up any high quality looks.
