Other than when we played the Sens I don't know him that well. I saw him play a couple junior games with the Oshawa Generals too. Just wondering if they plan to use him or not with Simmonds, Thornton and Robertson out

I was at Sabourin's first NHL game, where he scored a goal against the Leafs. The group of fans sitting next to me got VERY excited, turned out it was his fiance and two sisters.

Odd Thornton is on the 2nd line when he can't play yet. Maybe they give Petan a chance there?

There’s no way Vancouver can play as bad as they have the first two games. Surely they have a little pride.

to quote Mr. dangle: " they will not get that same Vancouver canucks team again, and i was absolutely right because they were worse!"

at this point i dont know what to expect from Vancouver. they look like complete and utter ass and i have no idea how they can turn that around in the span of 1 game.

I would have stacked the PP with Simmonds out, but Keefe/Malhotra results haven't told us to criticize them yet.

Expected outcome of 3 game Canuck series

They could at least try. They may not have talent but their lack of effort is noticeable.
If they’re too tired then the league needs to rethink this schedule or allow an expanded roster.

I don’t understand why they couldn’t go with 48 game schedule like the lockout shortened season in 2013? Why did they feel the need to cram so many games in so little time? Especially with the pandemic going on. I don’t get it.

The answer is always money.

Simmonds is a lacklustre 5v5 player that can punch real gud and play a physical brand of hockey on a bit of a PP hotstreak. The benefits he provides make him a unique asset on the team and until we see better 5v5 players provide this pugnacity, he should continue playing controlled minutes for the team. This brand of player also seem to thrive in the playoffs, and being a hometown guy doesn't hurt either.

Bro you left out other two key words here: 1) Belligerence and 2) Testosterone

:sarcasm:

It's funny how whatever line Hyman is put on always seems to be the most effective. Third line was great for the first few games. The Matthews line has been carrying things since he was moved there. He's so good.

Engvall still sitting out is questionable to say the least.

Not surprised they want to still give Barabanov some chances, and that they want to keep Engvall's waiver exemption as long as feasibly possible. Would not be surprised if we don't use him at all until the TDL.

Hmm wondering how many more chances Barabanov will get .. I can understand with no exhibition games or a camp, they want to give him a fair shake (especially because he came over from Russia as a UFA) but he hasn't done anything in 6 games so far.
