Hi my HF Leafs friend, I was checking out the GDT for lineup info to complete mine & noticed your Post. I hope you and your family are doing well out East.
Yes but anybody can look decent next to JT and Nylander. Vesey even scored a few goals. He was also playing minor minutes, way down the lineup at that point. Looked like a completely different player (shades of vintage Wayne) playing with Tavares, Nylander and fulfilling his role on the powerplay. I can't blame him, he's played with talented players for years. He's not JUST a grinder.
Sure he can play but it is a condensed schedule and they play in 3 time zones. Load management keeps him fresher for the playoffs but what do I know
Ahl player at this stage. I think it might be expected that these guys are AHL’s first. So he needs Ahl time.I know I'll likely get backlash, but I'm currently over the Barabonov situation. Much rather see a guy like Joey Anderson get in. We also have Engvall sitting there too. Luckily we have good depth.
Hyman-Matthews-Marner
Vesey-Tavares-Nylander
Engvall-Kerfoot-Mikheyev
Petan-Boyd-Spezza
*Or a Mikheyev-Kerfoot-Anderson 3rd*
I agree he likely gets practice time first, but doesn't the "AHL time" idea to out the window when they're bringing him to the main group? If it was just AHL time, he already had a Marlies contract and would have been playing in the AHL when it starts up. At least that's my understanding is that he is going to be joining the taxi squad, but I could be wrong. If I am, please correct meAhl player at this stage. He can go to the Marlies any time. He was kept around for good practice in terms of getting some money in his pocket. He might reject being sent to the Marlies and get his agent working on something home for him. Not a best idea if he wants every resource available to a player. I think he would work his way up the ranks and play bottom 6 for us. It looks like he is going through the big adjustment. Hopefully he hangs in there. He takes good ice defensively and his coverage is great already, well its good. He’s not comfortable at all yet.I agree he likely gets practice time first, but doesn't the "AHL time" idea to out the window when they're bringing him to the main group? Tough luck on Simmonds injury, be great if he can return sooner than 6 weeks, he was playing so well.
I know we’re rivals this season, but as you recall, I’m a bigger fan of the Game itself and hate seeing guys get injured. Hopefully your Team has seen the worst it will in that regard & can stay relatively healthy the rest of the way.
Maybe our Boys can make it a more intense match tonight

At least I can wish anyway

Not the smoking, but I’ll be having a drink or two after work I’m sure.
Cheers
Yeah sure, we heard that last game. Canucks suck end of storyThe boys better be ready for a highly motivated Canucks team tonight. They've been embarrassed against us and the habs.
There’s no way Vancouver can play as bad as they have the first two games. Surely they have a little pride.
At some point Canucks will have to respond. We need to be readyYeah sure, we heard that last game. Canucks suck end of story
Hey what kind of Casino are they running here. I had 187,000 something SB cash yesterday, I see its back to 50,000 today. Sheesh

Thanks for the jinx tweet, Terry.
They could at least try. They may not have talent but their lack of effort is noticeable. Its hard to be prideful when you're arguably the worst defensive team in the league.
I'm not sure a better effort will help, it might come down to the fact they're so top-heavy that whenever EP, Boeser, Miller, Horvat, Hughes, and Hog aren't on the ice they get absolutely smoked against non-4th line comp. Not only that, but EP/QH haven't been their sexy self either to start getting shit pumped 5v5. It's the same problem Edmonton has but McDavid is able to carry almost a full team's offensive load unlike virtually any other player in the league.
Other than when we played the Sens I don't know him that well. I saw him play a couple junior games with the Oshawa Generals too. Just wondering if they plan to use him or not with Simmonds, Thornton and Robertson outHe can go to the Marlies any time.
