Btw the worst plus-minus in a game by a Habs is -6
Malakhov in 1997 and Steve Shutt in 1984

I swear, I have never seen any hockey player falling so often on the blue line in OZ like Matheson.
He is beyond terrible.
He himself is costing us game after game and he still gets most TOI. :shakehead

I've been watching the Habs for 23 years, and on this board since 2002. The narrative has NEVER changed. I can't recall a single season where people didn't hate the coaching. And I'm willing to bet it's been like this for a hundred years. At some point, you gotta start thinking the problem is you.

But if it helps y'all feel better about the state of affairs, hey you do you.

So I've been a Habs fan since the 1975 New Years game against Central Red Army.... yea I'm old.

I think St Louis is a good coach for this team now, but they haven't addressed their defensive play. no creativity with the puck, horrible special teams.

All pre-season the management has talked about developing as a team, but in 10 games I am not seeing it.

We can't go another 70 games looking like this or its a wasted season, something is going to give before we have an 8 game losing streak, we are half way there now!

it's still so early that anything can happen but when you look at the early results from Cooley, Kulich, Michkov to what Slaf, Mesar and Reinbacher are doing, I think it's safe to be a little concerned.

But Reinbacher could end up the next Weber and Slaf/Mesar could be good NHLers one day, who knows but boy are there some red flags popping up. If I'm Hughes/Gorton I don't think I would be sleeping as well cause if they did f*** this up ala KK/Galchenyuk, etc... it's just going to push things back even further as we must find high end players somewhere.
when @montreal is posting this...I start to get scared. lol.
but what the f*** do I know?
It's a disaster if those three picks end up being only average NHLers.
right now It feels like Newhook won't be anything more than a North/South 20 goal scorer.
I'm less concerned about the D right now because they're young and have a lot potential. and there's a higher volume of quality young D in the system.

He's going to need to trade Monahan / Dvorak / Savard, but I wouldn't move them for picks; I'd prefer young players

And when I say that...I'm negative....Reality is this....Martin Lapointe has proven nothing. Bobrov doesn't have a good track record. And a lot of the amateur scouts from the Timmins era are still there. Including the Euro scout in charge in Rockstrom.

I have no idea why people say that we are in good hands. Aside from Gorton and Hughes who do seem to be an improvement over Bergevin. Yet, they don't pick guys. At best, as Gorton as proven through the meetings, they give some pointers as to what to check. But that's it. The scouts are the ones in charge.

This is not on MSL, though I do think the fanbase is fully turning on him now. Virtually every single player is playing a larger role than they can handle.

It's hard to remember just how bad things were before Marty got here, but at least we're not benching our young players and denying them agreed upon days off.

We are getting dummied because players can't execute what MSL is telling them, not because MSL is telling Matheson to handle the puck like a grenade.

He has been a give away machine for most of the year so far…..especially since he’s been back from the IR.
I thought he was absolute fire starting the season. Night and day, he should quit the dangling is he’s not well.

I bet MSL regrets saying his team reached another level after beating Vegas.
We've been complete ass since that game.

Should've traded Anderson when his value was high, not when it's tanked.
I don’t know about that, I hold on to my stocks until they’re worth Pennies and then I panic sell them and it’s working out pretty well so far…wait.
What?

Oilers coach’s face creeps me out for some reason.

I just had to share that news, carry on.

They all have to go. Marty himself is an assistant at best. He is not a legit NHL coach. Sorry... he is Slaf of NHL coaches. He needs to make his dues in order to learn. It's just a matter of time before all fans and media turn on him. He is a good guy no doubt, but he does not belong. The team is NOT improving in any one area. Not one.
This team is extremely unmotivated, if Marty doesn't start to show his teeth soon we re drafting 5-7 which means zero improvement over a full year 😕
