Lines have been updated. Chytil is questionable but could still play. Kravtsov is out (sorry Ed), and Shesty starts.

Again, game is on ESPN+ or Hulu only.

No they were definitely tough.

Lucic was/is tough, McQuaid was tough, Boychuck was tough, Chara was huge and nearly killed a guy. Even a guy like Recchi was pretty tough despite being short (and a great player at his peak.) They legit bullied Vancouver when they played in the finals.

Thats obviously changed over time and they definitely fit the mold of a smaller, skilled team now, but they still have guys who like to act tough but really aren't (mostly McAvoy and Pasternak and Krug while he was there. Marchand too, but thats really his MO as hes always been a troll.)

Not many around the league wanted to deal with Shawn Thornton (granted it isn't just about scrappers either) - and going back to the Neely days they played a heavy game.

I agree they have a couple right now that play with a chip on their shoulder, for me Trent Frederic could use a tune up lol ;)

In the 90s I considered the Bruins a notch or 2 below Philly in terms of physicality but still brought it - man that seems like a previous life for me now.

But like you said, they're not the Bruins of old, and neither are Philly all the same.

Chytil already makes me nervous when people come near him, I'd rather he take another bit off. I'll be even worse the next time someone comes in to hit him. It was a douche move on Sillinger's part.

This is going to be a great test, the Bruins are the best team we've played so far. These games always seem to be low scoring lol hope we can generate some offense tonight.

I’m really surprised with how well Boston has played right out of the gate with all the injuries. I think they know a rebuild could be on the horizon , so trying to get it all out there now.

Can't frigging stand Marchand and Hall.

Going to be a tough one though, especially if we don't have Chytil. Without him in the line up, our 3rd and 4th lines don't excite me.

Hoping for some "good bounces" tonight. We are due. Need to play strong defensively. Any further word on Chytil ?

I look at the Bruins and Penguins and I think about the longevity of the core players and the winning culture they have built.

We have been waiting for both of these teams to fall back a notch and uh... its not happening. Respect for them and their management.

However, what it really boils down to is they have several key players who are great at what they do and they build around that. Cant help but think if the Rangers play their cards right that they'll be in this stratosphere as well at some point in the future. Hopefully we are at the start of it.

With that said, big game tonight. I dont fall into the "statement" game traps, especially this early in the season, but its gonna be a good battle and both teams are playing well.

I am just looking for the Rangers to keep playing their game and not change shit up if they fall behind. Just stick with it
