This is probably not just Rangers management but it's very much still a league that values #toffness. And that's what they thought Schneider had. And it was important because the team that won the cup that year had #toffness or something.
toughness is the willingness to block shots, go to the net, forecheck and backcheck not big hits and fights. this is how we ended up with Goodrow. just an antiquated way of thinking. literally the worst piece of Tampa's third line.

i really want to see a team that is good at drafting build a true superpower with not a single plug anywhere in the lineup.

We know what Belzile is too and there's no reason to throw prospects onto the 4th line for a game or two. It's not that big of a deal.
I'd much rather have Cuylle Pitlick Othmann/Sykora/ Berard on the 3rd line tonight, and it would give someone who actually has a future here a taste of the nhl

The only hurdle is how do we not appear desperate as hell to offload this chud during the season. You need to get something decent back. If Andersson can get a 2nd rounder, maybe a pair of 2nds.
Yeah his value isn’t gonna be much. So disappointing. Hell, gimme Kessel at this point, at least he can still somewhat skate.

Only problem with that last part is that injuries happen and then you'll get plugs.

He doesn't light the world on fire right away trade him. Why not trade Kakko too. Talk about having no patience. He's only 22 entering his 2ed full season. Not like he is 26 and still waiting

Because he does nothing well, and this is his third full season, he played 63 NHL games his first year counting the playoffs, lets not pretend this is a Sophomore slump, he's the same player as he was in year 1.

He was highly thought of and not just for tuffness. If we didn't take him the Devils would have right behind us. The hate for the kid is ridiculous.

They’re really selling Hank’s cologne on the broadcast?
