The PK isnt going to break their playoff chances? They have allowed the most PK goals in the league this year.

Last year among the top 8 teams to allow the most PK goals only 1 team made the playoffs. The PK can absolutely break their playoff chances.

See what happens when you delete 75% of someones post and cherry pick stats? You can form just about any narrative you want.

I'm not a Monty hater, but I'll say this much: During both the Julien and Cassidy years, when the team came out flat, they would get coached up between periods and almost always came out playing better. I have not noticed this at all during Montgomery's tenure.

Dumb penalties and last night brutal PK. That's one of the biggest differences from last year.

For me, it is all about discipline. Same with the puck management, D zone coverage, talking care of the puck.

I don't think he is. On paper this team looks good. Added a top-six center and a big strong D-man. Signed Swayman. Made the team bigger and harder to play against. The players aren't doing their part.

He tends to pick up the hitting when they're down by multiple goals. Frederic has more hits than Zadorov this season. The difference is Zadorov's hits standout more because it usually sends him to the penalty box.

Frederic had 4+ hits last game despite not having any. Odd statistics depends on the home arena perhaps.

The Oilers were something like 5-12-1 around US Thanksgiving last season, and almost won the Cup

And neither has he's goaltending. If you make good saves but give easy goals it really doesn't help.

Sweeney’s clear plan has been to re-tool and create a new core on the fly. Very very difficult to do. This is what they’ve landed with, so far:

Inner core: Pasta, McAvoy, H Lindholm, E Lindholm, Swayman

Outer core: Coyle, Zacha, Carlo, Zadorov

Guys they hope will become core: Poitras, Lohrei, Lysell (??)

Veteran: Marchand

Can argue whether the Lindholms are inner or outer, but otherwise I think this is more or less right.

Take Lindholms out of inner core and trade one player. If you trade Sway then it might look like it is because contract negotiation. So Pasta or McAvoy. I would trade Pasta or both. You can trade Hampus and Coyle too for salary Cap. But this team do not need over 8 million goalie. so...
