I really don’t like his body language right now. He does not look happy or focused on the ice. Usually he’ll get into scrums and dig in. A competitive pest. He curls away from it now. Maybe he is trying to be more captainy, but if that is the case it’s affecting his game. Edgy Marchand is the better Marchand
He just isn’t getting scoring chances now . He still appears to skate well enough. Whoever he is playing with he has no chemistry with .

I’m not mad. I’m not disappointed. I’m not even mildly annoyed by it any more

I am indifferent. It’s just a bad team. That’s all there is to it

I watched 17 minutes of the first period, then started skipping five minute increments. Needless to say, it didn’t take me very long to “watch” this game

I've been on vacation in Mexico for the last 2 weeks. I haven't seen a game since but it doesn't take a genius , even if you haven't seen the games, to imagine the quality of hockey they have been playing.

I expected them to stumble out of the gates but this exceeds my expectations.

Still, this team can't be this bad. They will turn this around. Time is running out real quick for Monty.

Well, I'll be the bad guy here. Does it really make sense to give Marchand a 3 year deal? Not because it could be a rough spell and he may not enjoy that. But because he will be 37 before this season is over and he is just not the player he once was - he's not. Maybe if the AAV is pretty low but I would be surprised if he's extended at some super bargain. I don't know... I would proceed cautiously there. The team is past the point of "extending the window" with their old core. Those days are over.

Tampa Bay was torched for letting Stamkos go... but looking at the results so far and taking into account some of the brutally honest takes about his underlying data last year... were they wrong?
Tampa has a lot more talent besides Stamkos so it's not a good comparison. The Bruins biggest problem is not being able to make or take a pass which makes them look slow.

I mentioned this last season, and got lambasted by some posters who thought I was inferring that Marchand was not worthy of being captain

..but all I meant was the captaincy may be negatively affecting his play on the ice as a super pest and shit disturber

By now , I’m used to the Bruins fizzling out in the playoffs but I always want to make the playoffs anyway. I’m concerned I won’t have anything to watch . If the playoffs look like an impossibility , I won’t be watching .

I mean, who else would it be? Literally nobody else on this team even deserves an 'A'.

Who would've guessed that Matt Grzelcyk and Jake DeBrusk were the linchpins holding this team together? :sarcasm:

I know this is said in jest. But worth noting that Gryz currently has 6 assists, whereas no Bruins defender has more than 3. Not saying that keeping him would have made much if any difference, but something has been lost there that hasn't been replaced.

Remember when I said that Elias Lindholm was going to be the offseason’s biggest mistake for some team and that I hoped to hell it wasn’t Sweeney’s mistake?

Not that he’s the biggest issue on the team - but perhaps the money could have been spent a little more wisely.
Dropping $5mil on a bottom pair defenseman didn't help either....

What a shock that an entitled vet improves dramatically once in a new team.

McAvoy would win the Norris 100% on his next team even if he stinks for in us right now.
