Well, when you have a history of giving low experience, losing coaches a shot over and over, you can't exactly expect the fanbase to take it well when you do it again.

I am surprised at how mobile and how much offensive instinct Jenson has given he was advertised as a steady stay at home defenceman.

Hope his legs can keep up for the duration of the season and into the playoffs.

Jensen has been fantastic. Methot levels of competence, less physicality but better with the puck.

Caps fans were shitting all over him so I wasn't optimistic but he's been lights out and the perfect partner for Chabot.

Hopefully he has enough in the tank for this year and a couple more.

Best back to back games the Sens have played in 8 years?

I’d say easily. The Defence looks like it’s coached by Jacques Martin in Pitt, easy outlet plays to make and they have calm minds and they know the playbook.

I’d say the biggest improvement in our game (goaltending is the obvious choice) but the D always have a pass to make when they look up, it’s transformed the team.

People were overreacting to the numbers from a pretty small sample against tough competition. As we continue move forward everything will stabilize and smooth out.

To have 3 is a real treat - we can see Kleven / JBD maturing before our very eyes! Very impressed with the D as a whole last night (including Hamonic, he had a very good game).

With Zub back the slotting changes and I think you've got 3 pretty strong pairs, in their slot.

The big difference to me is the depth. There's just NHL players in every position and they're playing with a little more determination and confidence

The DeBrincat trade was a tough look, but if we look at it through the lens of DeBrincat for an extended Ullmark it’s pretty sick.

I’m starting to feel like we don’t have the scheduled losses for DJ built in excuse games anymore (back to back, first game back from a roadie, any game where all bounces don’t go sens way etc.).

The biggest difference I notice between this team and last year's is how quickly they close on the opponents. They don't give them any time or space. They almost look like, dare I say it, the Florida Panthers. I'm not saying the Sens are there yet, but they are finally buying into overall team defense. This combined with a lethal PP and they're going to have success.

They have a great test coming up: Boston, Toronto and Carolina on the road and then Edmonton and Vegas back at home. I can't wait to see how they stack up. Especially looking forward to the Toronto game. That is going to be intense.

What do they do when Pinto gets back in?

I kind of am interested in having Pinto play on the top line with Tkachuk & Stutzle, but the Perron/Pinto/Amadio line seemed pretty good, so maybe we leave it together. I have really liked Gaudette's hustle/shot, so I actually think he may work well on the top line (I have not been impressed with Greig there).
