This is the best senators hockey I've watched in almost a f***ing decade. I was skeptical at first, as per tradition, but I'll gladly eat crow and admit we do look f***in legit lately. Not world beaters or anything, but we will absolutely make noise at the end of the season this year as opposed to being a dead fish by the end of November

Record aside. In terms of what Ottawa "deserves" relative to other teams - we've had a tough schedule and we've come out of close games with zero points where you could say we should have had overtime or potentially even a win. We started with Ullmark injured and a shaky Forsberg. Forsberg looks good now. Ullmark is healthy again.

Now it's all about the team remaining faithful that if they keep working hard there will be more results like tonight and fewer results like the Rangers or Vegas where I feel we played better but lost and got 0 points.

We need to string together some wins and I don't see why we can't.

Wise, but still nice to shit on the incredibly negative side of our fanbase. I'm pretty confident we're gonna get there

Let's be fair, it's not like Travis Green was bringing a ton of winning experience with him, so I think the negativity was warranted.

Still willing to give him the chance to prove the doubters wrong.

Great to see Forsberg get the shutout, you could tell he was feeling it tonight.

Winning or losing, it's much more enjoyable to watch the games this year. Playing well without some key players in Zub/Pinto/Perron.

Next hurdle for them to overcome is getting a proper win streak going. Going on a 4-5 game run at some point in Nov/Dec would be a great confidence/standings boost going into the New Year.

I think he's doing it infront of our eyes right now-- that's 3 games of buy-in after a stinker which would've been absolutely unheard of before. It may be the 9 beer talking but I honestly feel like these are the signs that we're finally putting it together

I'll jump on the wagon if they sustain this level of play around the 20 game mark.

....9 beers uh? How long until you pass out? ;)

Sens with a good game on a back to back. In control through most of it.

Refs were brutal with what they called and what they didn't

Forberg had a pretty easy night until the 3rd where he made 2 great saves to preserve the shutout and the lead.

Nice play by Amadio to lead Stutzle with that puck for a chance to seal the deal.

JBD and Hamonic had a couple big blocks each.

Kleven and Ostapchuk had good games.. Be nice to try to find a place for Ostapchuk but someone (likely MacKewen) would have to get waived so probably won't happen. Anyway Pinto could be out for a bit so lots can happen between now and then.

12 games left in November be nice to win 7.

Much like Tocchet, who didn't carry an extensive winning record to Vancouver, we should refrain from constantly evaluating the past since each opportunity is distinct and unique.

Granpappy came straight from the Isle so I've got that blood, I'm good until y'all fall asleep don't worry

Nick Jensen has been a fantastic addition +8 and 20:34 ice time, he's been a very calming presence
Super underrated. I don't hear his name often which is exactly what we needed
