Jensen has been fantastic. Methot levels of competence, less physicality but better with the puck.

Caps fans were shitting all over him so I wasn't optimistic but he's been lights out and the perfect partner for Chabot.

Hopefully he has enough in the tank for this year and a couple more.

Sometimes a change of scenery can do some good for a veteran. And we only need him to be good for 2 seasons.

He struggled last season but he also was moved around with different partners a lot (Sandin, Edmundson, Fehervary, Alexeyev and Van Riemsdyk) who frankly are no where near as good as Chabot

A team on the rise with an excellent partner motivates him for sure. As SoA posted :

I kind of am interested in having Pinto play on the top line with Tkachuk & Stutzle, but the Perron/Pinto/Amadio line seemed pretty good, so maybe we leave it together. I have really liked Gaudette's hustle/shot, so I actually think he may work well on the top line (I have not been impressed with Greig there).

Tkachuk - Stutzle - Gaudette
Giroux - Norris - Batherson
Perron - Pinto - Amadio
Cousins - Grieg - Ostapchuk/MacEwen/Gregor
Gaudette should not be on the top line. Yes, he has a a goal scorer's touch, but I doubt he can handle opponent's top players. I agree that Grieg has not been very noticeable with Brady and Stutzle. He's not ready for the top line either.

I floated the idea of Pinto with Brady and Stutzle a week ago. IMO, that could be a trio that works well.

Tkachuk Stutzle Pinto
Giroux Norris Batherson
Perron Grieg Gaudette
Cousins Gregor MacEwen
Amadio

This is a playoff team, their record is worse than it should be and they are doing this with Zub, Pinto and Perron out. Ullmark missing or playing like crap.

This team is gonna be a wagon once it hits its stride, it might already did starting with the Rangers game.

Klevin is a monster.

Once our secondary scoring starts to show up, Greig, Amadio, Perron and Pinto back, and with Zub, then watch the f*** out.

Credit to Cousins for digging it out!
That line has a lot of chemistry, wouldn't break them up to put Gaudette on another line. If coaches trust this line to be responsible defensively and produce, give them more minutes. If Brady and Stu need a playmaker like Giroux or Batherson to produce, then they're the problem as it means they don't make the players around them better, they need help to produce 5v5.

Over There
Just watched the replay of Gaudette's goal getting waived off, requiring a challenge. Still don't know wtf the ref was seeing there! Kudos to the Sens video team, now 3-for-3 (?) on challenges.

Zub has had like 4 concussions in the last 3 years. It'll probably take him awhile to get back.
It could get worse; succeeding concussions are harder to come back from and leave the player vulnerable to getting additional concussions. At some point he might have to retire from hockey.

Well that’s one way to sing that one.
Not the right way; too much warbling with high tones added.

Are you serious?

If Gaudette gets 25-30 goals you sign him for an extra year or two immediately.
Especially with 4th line minutes. He's always been a goal scorer, that ability isn't going to go away. He even said during his post-game interview that he had to work on his 200-ft game in order to play in the NHL so that's what he's been working on for the last couple of years.

Chabot skating >>>>>>>>> Chabot shooting
Chabot needs to work on his shooting; both one-timers and shooting from the point to avoid hitting opponents right in front of him. He also seems to shoot in slow motion compared to the goal-scorers in this league; big backswings and handling the puck too much before shooting.

Many other players on this team need to go to shooting school too.

This whole 'two years without goal' thing the media has been running with about Gaudette is really weird. They're making it sound like he was on some Bill Muckalt-like run of futility. He only played 2 NHL games over that period!
The "media" often lacks intelligent things to say because either many of them either never played hockey or are more impressed with being "wordy" than informative or are just using the info provided to them by their so-called "researchers" or support people.

Weak call,
Missed the "holding the stick" part too. Obviously they chose to ignore that part!

So what do Sens fans think of Gaudette? Is this a fluke hot streak? Or is he actually playing well and going to stay in the nhl?
If he continues to score goals and play decent defensive hockey, he will have won a spot on the roster. There are other players who are not doing anyway near as well as Gaudette.

If the team wants to demote someone, Cousins might be the one to go.

I got to eat some crow on that one, I didn't think he'd work on a 4th line as well as Ostapchuk, but he's been great (Ostapchuk is looking good in his callup so far too).

I also had no faith in MacEwen but he's looked like a legit 4th liner.
I have seen MacEwen play decently before this season and not been as down on him than some others. However, his fighting sucks a bit and I grew disenchanted with him. I think Green's coaching and forechecking strategy is better suited for MacEwen and his size, speed and physicality. He is being used better by Green than he was by the DJ Smith coaching crew.

Closest I sat ever , so happy :)
I don't like that view of the game; its OK once in a while but I prefer a view from the 200 level at center ice.

I would run with this lineup when all forwards are healthy:

Tkachuk Stutzle Perron
Giroux Norris Batherson
Greig Pinto Gaudette
Cousins Gregor Amadio
MacEwen
Putting Perron on the 1st line is OK as an experiment but I think he is too slow to be on the first line, and hand also too slow for the second line.

I would try Gaudette on the first or second line to see if he can develop some chemistry with our better offensive players. Amadio sucks offensively.

He literally statue of liberty'd the stick hold, I've been seen something so obvious
I don't think the ref should be embarrassed; rather he should be disciplined for that obvious refusal to call it an obvious penalty.

Yes! That's a no-brainer move given his AHL performance last season and what he would have achieved this season.

The boys are learning that it's easier winning game when you don't have to score 5 goals every game
During the post-game show, someone mentioned that the Leafs have only won the games where they scored 4 or more goals 😂. Have the roles reversed?

In his post-game interview, he said that he got some tips from Ullmark and the goalie coach, that they all work together to improve their games. Seems to be working.

“See, here is where you stop the puck.”

“And here, what you do is you stop the puck.

“On a play like this, the important thing to do is to stop the puck.”

*Forsberg frantically scribbling in his notebook*
