It's random. Depends hugely on goal save percentage, shooting percentage, PP goals/against. It is not indicative of anything. Like I said over very large sample sizes (ie way more than 10 games) 5v5 goal differential adjusted for TOI can be useful. But +/- is random and useless.

Forget it. You clearly don't understand the definition of "random."

It is indicative of how successful a player is in playing defense, whether that player is a defenseman or a forward defending. It is not a random stat because it is directly related to what happens on the ice. How can you say that its random? Ridiculous statement.

Clifford got a plus on a goal Kopi scored from Nolan cause Kopi was being double shifted. That's not going to show in the lines plus minus. The stat has to be used as a supportive stat, not an isolated stat.

The stat I would like to see is shot differential with that line.

So Tomas Vanek went from bad defensively to best in the league to bad defensively then (-11, +47, -5)? Or Tom Preissing was the best defensive D-man in the league? It is the definition of random.

Ask anyone who knows anything about stats (including people in the Kings organization) what they think about +/-. They'll laugh at you for calling it a stat like it means anything.

Is Greene still injured and unable to play? Because if they put Forbort in front of a healthy Greene that speaks volumes.

Not sure if McBain will be back in the lineup against St. Louis, so we may have to endure this again tomorrow.

Not sure the status of Greene.

Right now the Kings seem to have a pretty solid Top 4 defense and then a jumbled mess after that. McBain has played pretty well, but do we really want two of these guys in the lineup for the playoffs? Getting 2 d-man at the deadline will be tough, but you better believe Dean will be looking for one at the deadline.
