That goal looked very nice on the replay, some luck combined with nice passing. Good work by Sillinger too, well deserved I feel.

by “constantly creating plays”, you mean skating around the offensive zone behind the net and then aimlessly throwing the puck net front to no one there… sure.

oh and he also has the 2nd worst xGA, only tex has worse numbers there. while he does have one of the highest xGF totals on the team (which isn’t much compared to other top line forwards across the league).. he’s been a liability in the defensive zone/when the puck isn’t on his stick. the xGA numbers that he’s posted back that statement up.

he needs to be better, period. how someone can argue against that is appalling/has super low expectations for said star player.

You're looking at minutes, not defensive play.

Use rate stats. In this case xGA/60.

Johnny has the 2nd best xGA rate among our 11 forwards with 60+ minutes of ice time. That's really good.

Voronkov is VERY good at reading the game and all the “little things” on the ice. Better than most “skilled” players. Good passer. Like to see him get some (clean) shots off on net.

His size and ability around the net is another UNIQUE asset, and 1 the team hasn’t had in an awhile, if EVER if we’re honest. He’s an absolutely unique player. A good player. A NHL player.
