If King elevated the puck in 2 separate occasions (or if anyone was able to that for that matter), we'd be singing a different tune.

If the Kings play like this for the most part of the season, I won't be too worried.

Doughty is now an NHL worst -10. Bad turnovers every game and zero offense.

Didn't Carolina miss the playoffs after winning the cup?

Do you really think Doughty was the problem in this game? Sheesh.

Those who say "we won the Stanley Cup last year" need to quit living in the past and look to the future. The Kings suck right now. Does last year even matter? No.

Question for you. If Kings would won 3:2 today and everything else on this game would be the same (chances, shot ratio, offence actions...) would you write also that Kings sucks?

Because for me, despite this loss, if they'll show constantly that kind of performance, they won't have any problems reaching PO.

It's really hard to win games, when you don't have any production from your 3nd line center (i.e. Mike Richards).

And you won't as long as he has 2 4th line wingers , not gonna happen. Sutter made that call, and it was the 2nd line, the one WITHOUT Richards that had 2 ES Wings goals scored on them.

If you want Richards to have a chance to produce on that line, put Williams back on the 1st line and at least give him Gagne. Nolan and King are not finishers and that showed today.

What a kick in the balls.

Once again, nothing from the 2nd line. How much longer are the Kings going to pretend Mike Richards is still a 2nd line center?

Did You watch the game ? Carter was the second line today. Richards was playing in the bottom 6. Our second line was great and had the second goal

Mike Richards played great, his wingers are not 20 Goal guys. Sutter used that line for energy more than anything.

You can't expect Richards to produce with Nolan and King.

They may net your odd Goal, but it's not going to be gang busters.

Kings played a fantastic game, had the Wings on their heels a good part of the game, plus Howard played extraordinarily well. Beyond that, it was a battle over bounces (like the ending).

I'd easily take your team off your hands if you guys really don't want them. ;)

There is a heck of a LOT to work with there.

?? Carter was the second line center today.

Sorry. Am out of the country. Wasn't able to have a strong enough internet feed to watch GameCenter feed. Could only listen online. I stand corrected. Nice to see Sutter did try something. I think Richards can be a good player in a 3rd libe role. I have faith in DS, I really do. But the Kings still need a finisher. Biggest issue with Carter at C is it weakens the wings which is already a bit weak.

And to answer, this is atleast the 3rd time I can remember losing to Det at the Joe with under a minute to go. Last year this year and Yzerman best us in the season opener in 03 with like a second left. Dustin Browns first NHL game.

I'm starting to agree with the Toffoli call up. Switch things up, make Mike Richards a healthy scratch or something

The big irony with this game is that 10 years ago the shoe would be on the other foot. The Wings would thoroughly outplay the Kings and somehow be down 2-1, tie the game at 2-2, and the Kings would miraculously score to win it with 5 seconds left.

It would? pretty sure Detroit was still kicking our ass in 2003...

The Kings outplayed the Red Wings. That may have been there best game really...

BUT... absolutely none of that matters! It was a horrible game! The Kings lost. That's all the matters. You can play better then every single team every single night. But, if you don't win games your a terrible team.

Simple as that.

Kings are digging themselves into a giant hole that they need to get out of immediately!

Same here I expected the Kings to miss the playoff's last year. So I don't know why people are so angry this year.

Kings just hit 10 games ? right ?

Winning the Cup will do that to a fanbase. Not that I am ever satisfied with the Kings not winning the Cup, but automatically expecting a team that finished 8th in the regular season and barely got into the playoffs to suddenly dominate with essentially the same team back is absurd.

Yes it is a 48 game season, yes it is February already. But remember this is 10 games into the season without a preseason. Any other season, this would be about the first or second game of the season. For a point of reference, in 1995 (the last 48 game season), 42 points was good enough for the 8th spot. Dallas finished with a record of 17-23-8 and was in. I suspect 8th spot will be around that again this year. I haven't given up hope yet, in another 20 games, if this is still what the Kings are like I may have changed my tune.

Clifford is fantastic player, that's what the game showed. He can do it all. Absolute gem to have.

The feeling of joy when the Kings tied the game 14 seconds left in the 3rd period, i thought i was genius for betting a good chunk of cash on the tie.

Wont say what my feelings were soon after that.

Despite the loss, the line combinations looked bang on. It's unfortunate to see MR moved to the third line but our second line had more punch offensively with Carter centering Clifford and Williams.

I know they screwed up at the end but I would rather see a Doughty-Martinez pairing than Doughty with Ellerby.

We absolutely have to pick up a good third liner to play with MR on that line, cause if he's playing with those two he'll be lucky to get 20 points. Anyone would.
