Kopitar is not on pace for 60 points in a 82 game season....Where is rant on him ?

Drew has ZERO goals in 10 games, he is paid more than Richards to put the puck into the net.

Matter of fact no one is.

Kopitar gets criticized on a yearly basis. And with his injury I am not gonna go on the trade front with him just yet...

Drews offensive game went to toilet ever since DL questioned his preparations. The fat Drew that was a Norris nominee clearly lacked a lot...

Carter has been great this year, Williams was always a turnover machine but usually gets a pass on these boards for whatever reason...

Brown was actually decent today outside of his minor penalty... He is what he is- inconsistent 50Pts, 25G scorer that looks like a HOF one game, then like a 4th liner the other....

I just want to put this out there again.

The Kings including OT losses last year. 40-42. Half the league that makes the playoff's every year since 05, is a 500. team including OT.

Why did people expect the Kings to dominate this regular season.

He allowed 2 goals that shouldn't have gone in. Any NHL starting goaltender should stop those shots he let in. Game was tied up, and Quick lets one in for the loss. (shrug)

Simply put, he couldn't match the effort and play of Howard's. It's been like that the whole year. His numbers have completely nosedived and he's not even a top 10 goalie this season...not even close. He needs to wake up, and blaming his **** ups on injuries to Mitchell and Greene isn't going to fly.

We might have to agree to disagree here. Sure, he let in a soft goal, but I can't blame the loss 100% on him. We simply can't score. I'd stick and chat more about this but I gotta hit the books (exam on Monday). Have a good day.

If they keep generating chances like that, they will produce. Everyone here is reading so much into small sample sizes of any number of things. I would be much more worried if the powerplay wasn't even generating chances like the beginning of the season.

It's some comforting to read your post. It's good to see someone else agrees with me. We just need to go on a 3-4 game win streak and all will be good.

And for people wondering about the Datsyuk goal:

Not that it really matters considering the Kings tied it up and had plenty of other chances to blow the Wings out, but I was curious when I saw it live and on replay...

Figures... Oh well, let's hope Halak is rusty as **** tomorrow...

Because theyre supposed to be "the best" since they won last yr? But theyre also missing key players so it makes sense that they aren't dominating right?

Our player's numbers are inconsistent mainly because we have an inconsistent powerplay. Whenever players have career years, usually the powerplay is always functioning at a high level and is amongst the best in the league. Most of Doughty's points came from the powerplay when he got that Norris nomination, along with Richards' points when he had his monster year. Once they start scoring with the man advantage, the points will even out.

The Stanley Cup champions are still the champs. The LA Kings are 3-4-2 so far but have outplayed their opposition in every situation. Quick has to start stopping some damn pucks, but that team is going to turn around soon. They're way too good not to.

Last year the Blue Jackets weren't as terrible as their record, this year they're worse. At the bottom as consistently as the Kings are at the top, the two teams are tied in points. There is no justice at the beginning of an NHL season.

That was before today's game, but it is still pretty prescient analysis. Look at who's on top of every single list on that page. Things have to start going the Kings' way at some point here.

What did everyone think of Ellerby?

I thought he was okay, but the comments about him look to be true, his decision making is very slow and was pretty bad at times.

Kings records since 06-07 =

27-55
32-50
34-48
46-36
46-36
40-42

I mean the Kings haven't had a dominate regular season yet under this current crop of core players.

The Sharks have had several with zero to show for it.

Even with the lackluster regular seasons, I'll keep last years Cup run.
Elerby was fine, the Kid at least can skate with Drew.

He made some bad passes, but who doesn't right now.

Ellerby was just fine. Sutter obviously trusts him more than Muzzin as he played 18 minutes. It's good to be able to take some of the burden off of Drew. Martinez and Ellerby had switched places by the end of the game, but I think that had more to do with Martinez's play than anything else.

Ellerby's skating was as-advertised, though. He moves well for a big guy.

I thought he did fine, he made less mistakes today than he used to with Florida. I think he'll improve and sutter will mold him into a solid defenseman and get that hockeyIQ up :)

Ha don't apologize for sharing your thoughts. I think most people will agree with you on that.

ha at least the Kings fans listen to me, many a Florida fan have pushed my thoughts aside b/c im only 16 and I apparently "don't know anything about hockey" even though I have been around hockey my entire life and have studied the game and certain plays as long as I can remember

In the last 2+ seasons, the #RedWings are 36-1-5 when @Datsyuk13 scores. The loss was more than 2 years ago (12/8/10), 3-2 decision vs. NSH.

Ellerby did move well for a guy that is that big.

Great looking stride, good skater.

He's always been a pretty fluent skater for a big guy. I watched him in Rochester and he ended up with a hat trick b/c he used his speed to his advantage. ( I also watched him get booed by ROCHESTER fans after he got the hat trick simply b/c he wasn't popular among the fans)

Ellerby looked good I don't see what all the complaining is about... he was sat late in the 3rd but for his first game with the team he looked pretty good in my opinion. He has a good reach and breaks up a lot of plays and he has his head up for the stretch pass which I like...

But anyway what the hell is clifford doing with carter and williams? why is dwight king out there with under a minute left? im glad detroit won after decisions like that happened.. this north south grease style is just stupid

Carter Kopi Williams
Penner Richards Brown
Clifford Stoll Nolan

thats what i think the lines should be. penner is a great hockey player he is a goal scorer something kings lack.... and i wouldnt mind trading brown for more of a sniper (maybe evander kane since hes LW and can play with kopi)

I think Ells did pretty well for his first game and honestly he looked comfortable out there with Doughty and later in the game with, drewiske (spelling?) I believe? I think if he already looks comfortable with them then he might get even better when he gets a little more used to the team and the system.

Trade Brown.....

Do people realize you can count on one hand, how many players over the last Seven seasons have:

Been in the top Five for hits, scored 20 goals or more, 50 points or more, drawn penalty's at a 2.2 rate per game.

No....Just no

I highly recommend not going to the mainboard :/

Time to go out and get drunk and forget that we even had a game today. :P

I enjoy the Vancouver mouthbreathers playing Kings GM. Brutal game, but I thought the Kings looked solid and Howard played unreal. On the bright side, I just added about five members to my ignore list

Your game day threads must look like a wasteland with no one around....LOL
