How has that second line not been broken up yet? MSL is getting stubborn.
His problem is he does not want to F$%# with the other three lines that are kind of working I guess. I suspect that once DVO is back Newhook goes to the wing- maybe with 14-22. Monahan with slaf and Anderson and Dvo slides between Pearson and Gally. RHP with Evans and hopefully Ylonen. Armia back to Laval.

They are working? Suzuki-CC are working and Monahan is only producing away from Pearson and Gallagher.

Working in the sense that they are not getting lit up like the 2nd line is. Change will come when Dvo returns. That said wonder if worth a try with Monahan with slaf/anderson- it was working last year when monahan got hurt and Newhook with Gally/Pearson. He is short a centre (Newhook is not one). Would be interested to see how newhook looks at centre with other wingers though.

Is it fair to say that you are not a member of team tank then? good on ya!
I actually think a tank and rebuild is the way to go. To tank and rebuild you need a lot of luck and to draft stars. Unfortunately for Montreal, they didnt draft a star with the 1st or 5th overall picks in the last 2 drafts when they needed too. You also need to tank properly in the right drafts, unfortunately that didn't happen. So here we are, 2.5 into the rebuild and don't really have anything to show for it beside hope. Falling short both years. Is the third time a charm? Maybe but unlikely. In the 2024 draft it looks like the Habs will need to draft in the top 3-5 to get that elite / star forward and I just don't see that happening. They have young players on team that are progressing making the team better than the past couple years which in turn makes a high pick unlikely.

To be honest Armia has done a fine job the past couple of games and as of now deserves to stay.

Barring injury someone has to go down to activate DVO. Armia doesn't need to be exposed to waivers. Guys like Ylonen and Pezz do.

Slaf does not- maybe he does get sent down but I don't think they are ready to make that move yet.

"Waiting for Dvorak to be back to shuffle the lines"

In what world does Dvorak join the team and play above Monahan
In what world does Anderson still deserve to be on the 2nd line

I'll save you 6-8 games before you realize, Marty
Newhook-Monahan-Slaf
Gallagher-Dvorak-Anderson (play them <8min if possible lol)

Actually I think Pearson & Gallagher have something good going on, so if it weren't for Anderson's trade value, he should be on the 4th.

I believe the thought is Dvorak takes Monahans spot at centre and Monahan moves onto the first line with Suzuki and CC. I agree Slaf needs to play with one of Suzuki, Monahan, or dach as his centre. With dach out it makes it a pretty clear what needs to happen.

MSL is ready to live or die with Slafkovsky-Newhook-Anderson.

:eek3:
This will be the last game IMO. Depending on how we use Dvo I see Slaf either with Evans real soon or with Houle. I fully expect Dvorak to start on a 4th.

Funny enough Armia/Evans/Slaf could be very interesting if Armia is playing well. Slaf could benefit from Armia's puck protection skills.

Moving Slaf to the AHL seems like the easiest way out of our man/roster pickle. Returning Armia to the AHL would send the wrong message at this point.

When both lines aren't scoring, that's a queue to change things up.
