Ok, and I AM SAYING, the “responsibility” of a hockey playing winger is not the same as a football playing wide receiver. That’s not what I’m saying
Especially for 3 games in a row. And close to every other game before that..These are the types of results that get people fired.
Gaudreau probably didn’t even know the guy was coming. There was nothing he could have done.Ok, and I AM SAYING, the “responsibility” of a hockey playing winger is not the same as a football playing wide receiver.
Actually it might be, and you blame the receiver for not also cutting back into the route and knocking the ball away from the CB/SS. Whatever, the point is that Gaudreau could’ve given WAY more effort on that play to not let the guy get the puck and walk in so easy.
He is still adjusting to playing a system that could be described as juggleing-rubiks cubes-in-the-dark-while-solving-them-system, while having a toddler and new teammates that are as clueless as he is :/Ok, and I AM SAYING, the “responsibility” of a hockey playing winger is not the same as a football playing wide receiver.

I have given much more criticism for the team than goaltending. And the team put him in that position many times because they are out there playing pond hockey with no structure. Its 60 minutes of a chicken running around with its head cut off. 90% of the comments are sh*tting on the goaltending but the rest of the team isn't getting the anger towards them that they deserve.
He was one of the best.I was worried about it, and I debated it with others (and myself), but they should have kept Bjorkstrand over Laine.
Laine isn’t a very good hockey player. He’s a fantastic shooter and offensive weapon, with an ability to backcheck, but that’s it. He and Gaudreau have no chemistry. And that’s not likely to change.
Bjorkstrand, not as dangerous in the OZ, is still a good player in his own right. He would have been a perfect fit with Gaudreau considering he would have battled for pucks and got them to Johnny.
I was uneasy but optimistic about Laine. And I don’t think he’s been bad, but he’s more of the same of what we already have (soft, no defense, no checking) with an excellent shot.
Johnny has to be so disappointed in his decision.
Congrats, That’s like being the tallest ant.He was one of the best.
I get the frustration and disappointment with how the team is doing, but replacing Laine with Bjorkstrand this season wouldn’t move the needle one bit. This team is disorganized, have no battle level, and IMO everything points to the coaching not being up to snuff. Sure, the roster is not the best in the league, but I think a better/more experienced HC could get a lot more of this group of players.I was worried about it, and I debated it with others (and myself), but they should have kept Bjorkstrand over Laine.

Laine has improved defensively, skating, forechecking/backcheking, play harder. But he will never get rid of his reputation.Congrats, That’s like being the tallest ant.
I’m surprised by the lack of Playstation jokes. Laine has improved as a player, but the teamplay sucks, and Laine is a part of that team that has a worrying level of suckiness.Laine has improved defensively, skating, forechecking/backcheking, play harder. I doubt that Johnny is so short sighted that he regrets his deicision about joining a young team a handful of games into the first season of a long contract. Patience and hard work with this team will pay offI was worried about it, and I debated it with others (and myself), but they should have kept Bjorkstrand over Laine.

The why pile on the tall ants? Björk is also shorter than LaineCongrats, That’s like being the tallest ant.
Maybe not, but at least I would watch Bjorkstrand and see a player who wants to make a difference.I get the frustration and disappointment with how the team is doing, but replacing Laine with Bjorkstrand this season wouldn’t move the needle one bit. Time, and a better system... and a better goalie, will fix the defense. Take the center! The worst part of this is even if they tank for Bedard, he ain’t fixing this defensive mess.
I’m not calling Laine lazy. I’m calling Laine a bad hockey playerLaine has improved defensively, skating, forechecking/backcheking, play harder. But he will never get rid of his reputation.
EDIT: I'm also disappointed about Bjork's departure. I'd rather trade Gus and Jakub together, giving some draft picks (other than a first rounder)/players, like Marchenko.
