I have faith we can win this game.
As a top 5 pick who isnt in the NHL one would expect him to dominate this tourney, not be just better than Bahl or McIsaac in this game. And as an Avs fan I don't quite understand the Byram hate in here. His hitting hasn't gone as planned to say the least but aside from that he was probably better than atleast 3 other guys on that blueline this period...

I kind of get it, Daws caused 2 of those goals but the team also laid an egg, no sense destroying your #2's confidence behind a garbage effort. If the team wakes up but Daws doesn't, I'd expect the change to be made. If Canada sucks for the rest of the game then you switch goalies for the next game and Daws is probably done for the tournament.I disagree with the TSN guys about keeping Daws in.
I am not saying Daws is playing well but tossing in a goalie who can't put even put up a .910 in the CHL is not something I would feel good about doing. How he did in 3 games at the U-18 matters a lot less to me then how they have played the last 3 months. He looks like it, spotting that sub .800 save percentage.
I just think in a short tournament like this you go with the guy who’s been there before.
Yes the games have many in them. Players fighting for every inch of ice.Is there challenges in WJC?
Tsn said they had plenty of time after the goal. It’s really inexcusable it’s so obvious he’s offsideThey don’t have a lot of time to make those calls.
**** happens.
Russia caught Canada napping in that first period.
Good on them.
I’m curious to see how Canada responds. It will say a lot about how they finish in this tournament.
More so than the actual end result of this game.
16 SOG for team Russia. vs 7-8 SOG for Canada? The period didn't really feel that bad tbh. Canada didn't do enough with their offensive zone possessions and the 1st Russian goal was a fluky one, 2nd was blown net front coverage and the 3rd was bad goaltending.
I'd like to see Canada get more aggressive going to the net with the puck.

Canada vastly superior?? Lol.. Clearly not! The days of struggling corrupt Russian hockey is long over, dudes.. Time to wake up.
when on equal terms both teams are equally competitive
Canada is going to get a bunch of power plays in the 2nd period. If there is one thing I don’t like about these tourneys is that the refs will always go out of their way to make the game more interesting. CZE/GER today was a clear example with all the ridiculous penalties on the Germans. Although i guess that is what makes this tourney fun to watch so who am i to complain.
