Well, yawn and barf.

First crap effort of the year in my books. Hope they have some gas left for tomorrow.

Already have the 'Kings are overrated' posts beginning, heh. Is it April 2015 yet?

Looks like a slightly delayed cup hangover. At least we have energy in Clifford, because just about everyone else outside of him, Jones, and the 70s was absolute trash tonight.

Muzzin had some good defensive plays at the end but the guy is clearly still recovering.

Doughty needs to get his **** together. I've always hated him playing big minutes because when he knows he's going to he's conserves his energy...which results in lazy plays defensively and sloppy plays offensively when he tries to do too much. I'd much rather him play 25 BETTER minutes than 30 crap minutes but we don't have that luxury right now.

If it weren't for the early Pens PPs we actually played well 5v5...just didn't have the personnel to overcome 2 goals especially when it went to 3.

Very disappointed in our vets Brown, richards, and Williams but it's hard to shine a lens just on them as it was a collective.

Also, hope Malkin gets beat up by another big star sometime, maybe Benn. Sick of him being a petulant baby when he gets touched.

Well aside from the pp, the only time the Pens looked dangerous was the 3rd goal. Not really impressed considering we were down 4 players and they fielded a healthy team.

Only 2 NHL teams have yet to get a goal from a defenseman this season: the Kings and Buffalo.

Although this is a stat I didn't know. No one wants to be included with Buf in any stat.

The Kings have been getting away with 3 guys scoring and goaltending, but not really playing well. Now they're starting to lose the games while not playing all that well. The ebb and flow of a season. Next up would be playing better but still losing, then playing better and winning. Not necessarily in the next two games though.

Guys are out, guys are beat up, and some of them are skating in sand and not doing much. Win some, lose some, what can you do.

Good game out there today...

Richards had a couple nice passes into the crease.

VDG almost getting one in the 3rd was exciting....

Hard to score goals when the top like gets 9mins and change 5v5

Jones looked good...

Bring on the WINGS!!!!!!

I think we are really noticing how much we miss Kopi. Even if he isn't scoring he is playing stellar D. And teams must respect him making them choose who to play against his line or that 70's line.

Bigger thing too is no one is carrying the puck into the zone. Dump and chase is the ritual outside the 70s line and no one is tenacious enough to get it back. Kopi is good for carrying it thru.

It be nice to have some our vets forwards create SOME plays. Brown wasn't dangerous, Williams wasn't dangerous, Stoll wasn't dangerous, Richards wasn't dangerous, getting caught up ice, and committing O-zone penalties!

The Kings game is to play a heavy game, be overly defensive, and wear people down. This is a very challenging style of play that limits offense as it is. When we're missing so much talent we are not going to score a goal. It's already as challenging as it is to score when everyone is back! (except the playoffs)

Take away the 70's line and the offensive stats are pretty awful across the board. Time for some other guys to step up. The record is really in no way indicative of how the Kings have been playing. The Kings have been fortunate enough to get some wins with dominate goaltending and one insanely hot line, that was never going to continue.

You've got the 70's. Kopitar has been quiet, but has 2 goals. Richards, Brown, Williams, and King all have 1 goal each, and Brown and Williams scored in the Edmonton game. That's a lot of nothing.

The 70's line can't keep scoring 2 goals per game. They won't keep doing it.

Richards has 1 point at ES. Williams and King have 2. Brown has 1. Stoll has 0.

It's annoying to have the same conversations as last year. It's annoying because, here we go again. It's also annoying because in the two years that the Kings won the Cup, they couldn't score a lick during the regular season, so you don't know if it's a problem or not.

At least Stoll played well tonight. Brown and Williams have been invisible all season.

Zero points and -2, he's been just as invisible as anyone else this season. Hell, Stoll isn't even the best faceoff guy on the team so far this season

I'm sorry, who was it that dropped the gloves again?

This shows why the 70s line is not a #1 line. They are best when Sutter has the last change and play limited minutes so the can out run the other guys. Not getting down on them. When Kopitar and Gaborik are back, other teams won't be able to shut down both lines.
Kopitar was missed on the PK as well. October has been good so far.

You guys are hard to play. Damn!
Of course it wasn't the real Kings out there for this one, but it is certainly a team that lets you earn everything just the same. Well, except for the fact that our PP is too good for you to take that many slashing penalties while you can get away with the truculence more against other teams.

Either way, looking forward to the game in LA. We play teams like yours, St. Louis, Anaheim and Chicago way too little for my liking, even if it is a benefit to our points tally of course.

Pretty much this, too many penalties against a highly skilled offensive team.
Kings were in the box for what amount to nearly 1 period.. Won't win many games doing that.
