Leafs fan - trying to check my bias.
What I saw:
A score that flattered the Leafs.
The margins are much tighter than what that score tells us.
The first call, was the only one I thought that was debatable. Sens lucky the other call was not a major. Matthews gets that call, sorry.
Ottawa was undisciplined - period. I fully expect them to be better.
I also think the chatter of Ottawa dominating 5v5 is also a little misguided based on the score.
Leafs were full marks for the W. They made good on their chances and overcame a bad goal. I thought Stolarz saved the game in the first 5 mins (made 3/4 - 5 star saves) in the second - aside from that was he average. Rebounds and catching the puck were not on point.
Thought Laughton’s line was outstanding.
Domi was terrible.
To close - It means literally nothing and fully expect Green to have them ready. I do believe this helps gives the Leafs a little confidence and that can help, but again the margins are much smaller than the score indicates.

if i remember correctly the stick did make contact but it wasn't like a direct hit square in the middle but id have to rewatch

If the refs want to help Ottawa they should give Ullmark a game misconduct before the opening faceoff in Game 2.

Why every single time I see or hear that Domi got in a fight, it’s just him sucker punching someone who still has their gloves on or isn’t paying attention to him. Literally every single time.
He’d have spent a ton of time suspended by now if his Dad wasn’t popular and buddies with all the guys making decisions around the league. It’s insane.

Reasonable take. Ottawa's 5v5 game is definitely their strength vs the Leafs, but it doesn't mean they're converting or looked particularly dangerous in their attempts. I still think they're going to be a tough out for us IF they stop clowning around with penalties. Lack of playoff experience showed here.
Agree Domi didn't look good at all. He's either getting assists or giving away the puck.

1) the refs didn’t cost Ott the game, you seem to agree, if still not liking the reffing, fine, I suppose I’d feel the same in the opposite position, but I’d also know that wasn’t what lost the game. I’m a Leaf fan,I’m used to losing and excuses are shit.
2) Dude are you new? No insult… the playoffs get called different. Happens in all sports, it’s not unique. 100%, they called a 5 a ref scrum after an initial 2 so they could get HQ to make the call and off them. It’s what happened.

Staying out of Box is key for Ottawa and even then I doubt they win this series .I enjoyed Klevin smacking that fake tough guy Domi in chops though.He went after Gaudette afterwards

LOVE Domi’s game. Especially how he’s not shy about dropping the gloves.
Perfect example tonight with Ottawa trying to rough things up in the final seconds of a 6-2 blowout and Domi lands a tremendous uppercut on that no-talent hack Adam Gaudette.
As Mike Tyson famously said, everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.
Look at how fast Gaudette turns around and gets out of that scrum. It’ll be very interesting to see how many more post whistle scrums Gaudette gets involved in during this series.
