If this team loses tonight, after I spent $70 on parking and got through the butt f*** Tigers traffic (why aren't they playing at 3 o'clock today??) I'm throwing my jersey on the ice.
Go wings go!!

We should be happy hockey is finally back….. just make sure you enough money for a few beers and maybe some hard liquor if the ice tilts in the wrong direction!

"In late 1803 the Lewis and Clark expedition got its start in Pittsburgh with the purchase by Lewis of a keelboat, supplies, and a Newfoundland dog named Seaman. By May a year later they were on the doorstep of the Louisiana Purchase and poling their way up the Missouri. Tonight, two hundred and twenty-one years later, the Red wings are also starting a journey via Pittsburgh that they hope to finish sometime towards the middle of next year. A journey that fans hope doesn't end with a boat on a river or even a girl with kaleidoscope eyes, but rather with an exploration of someplace this team hasn't seen in quite a few years - the Stanley Cup Playoffs."

What impresses me the most about ESPN+ is that they cannot cache my login even though they claim they can.

I really like the fact that they have not chosen to pull that bug out of the backlog and put it into a sprint.

Yessir, that impresses me a lot. A LOT.

Being on the 4th line (especially this 4th line) is a pretty bad sign for his future in Detroit, imo. I mean, look at this line:

Small defensive specialist
Small offensive specialist
Medium-sized stomping specialist

It truly is a spare parts line. What's its purpose out there?

If the Wings had any faith in Berggren, I'd rather see him with Kasper and Ras on the 3rd line, and then Copp, Fischer, Motte, Veleno, and Watson rotate through the 4th line for checking/shutdown purposes, with one of them probably being trebuchet'd into the Detroit River.
This is completely knee jerk before the first game of the season has even started. Do we still not understand line shuffling happens? Injuries happen, call ups happen?

The first game hasn't began and yet again we have fans here all "so and so they have no faith in, look at him on the 4th line"

Get a grip, guarantee you he will get a chance to play with a ton of players within the first few weeks of the season, hes not a full locked in 4th liner now because that is where he is slotted during the literal first game of the year.

Do we all agree that we shouldn't see anymore content where the players have to act? :P

I'm gonna grip as hard as I can, just for you, here we go....

The Wings have repeatedly shown they don't have much faith in Berggren. Between his call-ups (or lack thereof), TOI, deployment, sheltering, etc.... there is not much to show that this kid has much of a future in Detroit. Don't make me get norrisnick involved here.

Of course line-shuffling will happen... injuries... call-ups. Berggren is not going to play 82 games on the 4th-line. If you thought that's what I was saying, well, maybe I typed something I don't remember lol. It was merely commentary on game 1, and the starting points of each of these players, namely Berggren in this case.... and how the Wings still do not trust him. Which, as I said, doesn't bode well for his future. He's starting in a hole and will have to beat the odds to climb out of it.

That said, we'll see just how many players he plays with in the first few weeks. I kinda doubt it will be "a ton."

*releases grip*

OK, I just took a cold call appointment to have someone come out and look at my soffits ONLY on Monday.

Of course, the last 3 times I made this kind of appt, I got.

1 - "we don't just do soffits - let me sell you a new roof you don't need."
2 - "we don't do soffits only - let me sell you windows and be creepy-mad when you say "no"."
3 - no show.

Bleah. Trying again.

No grip me harder..

If they had no faith and confidence in him he wouldn't have made the nhl lineup game one.

Knowing our luck 5 players will be Injured by game 3 and he'll be on the 2nd line. Then we can all rejoice when he's well on his way to being a 100 point player.

I'll just call it what it is and I'll eat crow if I'm wrong, but he's gonna pan out to be a borderline 3rd liner and play for 7 teams before he retires.

The thing I'm hoping for is the poweplay to start clicking this year. Gustaffson with Kane and Debrincat on the powerplay should almost be a clinic. That was the reason they had career years on the Blackhawks. It was at times scary good. I think Gustaffson had a career high 17 or 18 goals that year. Kane had a career year in points and Dcat had 2nd highest career in points.
