Lineup is the best mix of merit and deference to vets you're going to see.

If you can't be happy with this you're just not going to be happy. Noticable crickets on Miller-Fox pairing everyones been begging for a year for.

Only mistake is Kakko on PP2. Apparently we have memory holed that last games PP clown fiesta from him.

I know this board has collectively made it's decision on what they think of Rempe already but I thought he was noticably a better player this pre-season than he was last year. Was quicker to pucks and more controlled on entries.
Everyone hates how the Rangers refuse to develop guys at the NHL level until they start developing guys at the NHL level and its like "no, not like that".

Very much trial by fire for Mancini but when he does inevitably get sent down, it’ll give him an idea of what to work on.

What a promising start to the career for an overage stay at home NCAA mid round pick. Wish guys like Crawley, Valentenko, and Beregalzov had shown the same

The 4th line of giants was our best line with a CF% of like 75% compared to Mikas like with 13%, and matchups aren’t even an excuse there because they were pretty much rolling lines and it was on the road. I remember several shifts where it was our 4th line against Barzal’s line.

I think Carrick was by far the weak link on that line, there were several times Rempe entered the zone with possession and Carrick stayed way too close to him instead of getting open to making plays. Carrick seems to have horrible hockey IQ and zero skill. Brod isn’t much better but I think that line should be Edstrom - Brod - Rempe. But we signed Carrick for like 3 years? So they probably have to play him. Ugh

Miller over Jones on PP2 is absolutely negligible given the minimal amount of TOI they will get.
As great a distributor as Fox is it would be nice to have a more mobile options for certain situations.

Guys who can make space form themselves in the open ice in a 1-3-1. Fox is good at winning space on the boards but he’s too timid in open space

What does Jones/Miller have to do with Fox? There is no chance they would ever come out for a PP1 Powerplay when Fox is in the lineup.

It's in his own end that is the issue I guess, I still want him in the lineup because defensemen feel his presence on the ice and react differently. The other issue is whether the refs will give him a fair shot or not. Hopefully Edstrom learns how to play a little more physical, might soften the need for Rempe on nights he isn't there

Pretty interesting that Jones, someone who was arguably the best PPQB in the AHL, can't get any time for the Rangers. Again though, still the start of the season.

Rempe seemingly a scratch is also pretty interesting too. At least Ed and Mancini are in who were probably the 2 best players in preseason.

Edstrom should've been up last year for the playoff run but we made the mistake of playing Rempe too much and the fans loved him

Our best lineup when healthy has Rempe in the minors.

I dont mind it. If Drury has intentions of moving him down the line it wouldnt hurt giving him some PP usage and padding his stats...

That being said - as we know that isnt happening anyway for anyone on the PP2 unit with the time they get. So its really a non factor anyway

Fox gets injured, and we would t be the first team to supplant a top tier 2 way defenseman with a more specialist type option on the top unit.

The blues didn’t throw Jay Bouwmeester on the top PP unit. Carolina often used DeAngelo over Slavin. Tampa subbed Sergachev for Herman at times if I recall
