It's one of those things that's negligible but I still wanna know why.Miller over Jones on PP2 is absolutely negligible given the minimal amount of TOI they will get.

people forget that Chytil is a legitimate star in this league. My most important takeaway from camp,is how well Chytil played ant both ends of the ice. I’m excited for the season to start to see if he is fully back to 100%. That could be the equivalent of trading for a star player.
Miller is the kind of player whose style is far more conducive to being an even strength point producer. It's one of those things that's negligible but I still wanna know why.
I thought he had a really good first game and then kinda' fizzled out. Ended up more noticeably running into the boards than anything else after the first game.I know this board has collectively made it's decision on what they think of Rempe already but I thought he was noticably a better player this pre-season than he was last year. Was quicker to pucks and more controlled on entries.

I mean we did it last year with Gustafsson when Fox was hurt. Jones is better than Key in that role, and it’s weird why they won’t give him that look, regardless of PP2 deploymentFox gets injured, and we would t be the first team to supplant a top tier 2 way defenseman with a more specialist type option on the top unit.
The blues didn’t throw Jay Bouwmeester on the top PP unit. Carolina often used DeAngelo over Slavin. Tampa subbed Sergachev for Herman at times if I recall
Miller sucks at defense.Could be as simple as PP2 is generally on the ice when the PP ends and thus more likely to be out to start the next shift at 5v5 and they'd rather the better defensive player on the ice in case they get stuck with 4 F 1 D for an extended period of time at 5v5.
I like Vesey and still think he can contribute in different ways. I am concerned tho when he comes back Edstrom goes out. Ugh.
So just curious if Fox goes out with the flu for a week it's ok that Miller or Trouba get pp1 time over Jones? What does Jones/Miller have to do with Fox? There is no chance they would ever come out for a PP1 Powerplay when Fox is in the lineup.

Pp2 can be important and even more frustrating that Jones would be a better compliment to guys like Laf on that 2nd unit
Can't speak for the rest of fans around the league but knowledgeable Ranger fans know that Chytil has legit skills this team could legit use. We are just worried how he makes it thru a seasonpeople forget that Chytil is a legitimate star in this league.
Fair enough but still take him any day over brodz and/or carrickVesey is a weird player. I don't rate him as a 4th line player, then again he often plays really well for a handful of games higher up in the lineup but he just can't sustain that level.

sure, but PP2 will still need to get some looks, either to start if the top guys were just in a long shift, or to finish up a PP. Why not put your best foot forward and maximize your chances? The only D to play a higher % of their team's power play minutes than Fox were Hughes and Makar and maybe Bouchard I'm too lazy to go back and check. In fact, all of the Rangers on PP1 were in the top 22 of % of power play time. Lav relies on them heavily because they get results.
Miller sucks at defense.

in 2023 he looked like a blossoming stud.Well, he does.
He kind of just sucks, period.
The last good season he had was 2021-22. Outside of like, half of that year where he was amazing, he hasn't really been a good NHL player.in 2023 he looked like a blossoming stud.
He's gone downhill since Lav was hired.
He’s been disappointing lately for sureThe last good season he had was 2021-22. Outside of like, half of that year where he was amazing, he hasn't really been a good NHL player.
