very good period. Lot's to like about the positioning, communication and assertiveness we're seeing from all 4 lines.

Suzuki is so damn good... created two good scoring chances for himself, set up two good scoring chances for linemates, made at least 1 direct steal and caused a couple of turnovers. He plays such sound, effective hockey.

I thought slaf looked ok outside of getting destroyed on the boards him getting leveled once a game is such a red flag he needs to get his man strength before he gets seriously hurt playing like he does

Slafkovsky had some good reads it’s just he takes a little bit of time to execute. He needs to cut that time down and commit instantly to a play.
Cruel to make an evaluation in such small increments. I’ll do it anyways: 6/10. He needs to make things happen.

Solid 1st period from Montreal. Leafs had no shifts where they kept possession for long periods in our zone. Outlets were strong as was puck support in defensive end.

Both teams are playing conservatively.

Gallagher can't handle the puck at all. He's terrible.

Pearson looks like a useful bottom 6 player that won't provide much offense, but won't cough the puck up in bad areas either. He has a Travis Moen type vibe, albeit smaller.

Slafkovsky won his puck battles, is shooting a lot more, is getting some quality puck touches, and is hanging around the slot area - all great things.

Friedman is an idiot. The call on slast night was barely a penalty. Definitely shouldn't have been a penalty shot. And who gives a shit about penalty shots. No one can score in a shootout so there is absolutely nothing to get excited about with a penalty shot.

Good 1st period overall, Toronto didn't had much space out there and Habs were first on the loose puck, good scoring chance but no grade A scoring chance either.

Allen stopped the first shot and Evans of all player scored the first of the season.

Now I want some of our kids to put some numbers on the board. MSL rolled his 4 lines in the first but need to put his top 6 more often.

Harris 2 hits and 2 shot on goal in the 1st...
