Kings will be fine. Zatkoff is a fresher player than Quick. Quick has played too many games and is washed up. I wonder if Dallas would swap Quick for Niemi and Klingberg. Kings could add a fifth round pick as a sweetener. A bigger deal with Quick and Martinez could also work for Benn.

Clifford looked really strong last night. The bottom 6 runs through him. I think this is the year he cracks 8 goals. He looked that good.

Gilbert was also a force last night. Great signing. I wish they kept Latta up though. That would have been a great third pairing.

Serious Hockey is back! GKG!

You think Quick is washed up but could land Benn in a deal packaged with AMart? Or Niemi and Klingberg? And that Zatkoff will offer no dropoff in productivity?

Or am I incredibly dense and missing the sarcasm meter, RP? I've had about 15 beers so it's probly me:handclap:

holy hell would getting benn be sweet.

Clifford cracking 8...I thought I was the optimist.

**** ya Gilbert was a force must have crushed at least 5 hot dogs.

Why is everyone dumping on Shore, he was one of the few forwards last night that could actually move the puck, and hold his own.

wb rp I hope you stick around i ve missed ur posts in here.

This might be the coolest thing since the RH63 glory days. It would be like reading the comments section on Soviet era Pravda or listening to the Iraqi Info Minister podcast.

Quick, Martinez, and a fifth for Benn. Later round picks are very valuable. Benn was a fifth rounder. Dallas would essentially be getting a younger Benn which would extend their window. This would be a straight up hockey trade. Have to give to get.

Zackoff is the real deal. Especially in this system. He should crack .900 with ease.

Lol!! Gotcha, bud :) me likey, we can kidnap Nill until he agrees. Herby will handover the players in a mutually agreed upon location.

Jk Herby, it doesn't have to be you, it can be Cruel11 :D

Popular myth but they've had three better goaltending performances in the last three regular seasons than Jones put up last year as well as a middle of the pack playoff run.

I still cannot figure out for the life of me why people exalt Jones' performances when he put up literally the exact same performance that gets Quick eviscerated on this site. Even in watching him, he's mostly unimpressive and leaves rebounds all over the damn place. The biggest difference between Jones and Niemi is the improved SJ defense in front of the G.

Edit: Saw you said 'in big games' and that I will agree with fully, even if JOnes were completely average (I don't think he is), at least he doesn't fully melt down like Niemi.

Agreed, as much as I hate them, they are just a good solid team.

I agree, this Shore looked better to me than last year's version. Still, I wouldn't be worried about cap issues with him anytime soon.

People would appreciate Shore a lot more if 90% of the rest of the forwards could produce. Guy is an elite defensive forward...we're just overflowing with similar.

HAH RP you son of a *****. Now all we need is Ron.

Would rather see Dowd in than Shore.

How about instead

Kopitar
Carter
Dowd
Shore

No reason they both can't be in the lineup. Shore is a strong Center, that moves the puck up ice.

Transition, is a problem for the Kings, no idea why people want to remove a driver of that.

The Practice lines today had this anyway:

Kopitar
Carter
Shore
Dowd.

I just don't like seeing a guy who put up the numbers he did in the AHL be out paced by Andreoff. If you want him as a fourth liner than fine. But they could have trimmed excess elsewhere. For all of LAs talk about a sorta culture/line up change, this team is weaker than last year.

Setoguchi and Gilbert, blah.

LA should have introduced more youth this year, especially on the back end. Get these guys some experience, not like this year is gonna be a cup year. I know I know.

We're like the opposite version of the Oilers in drafting players. We draft guys who can't score and play defense, they draft guys who can score and are defensive liabilities.
