Why is everyone dumping on Shore, he was one of the few forwards last night that could actually move the puck, and hold his own.

I distinctly remember Shore getting the puck at the top of the right circle last night with an open shooting lane. I thought for shore he was going to shoot the puck, but no. He elects to pass it back towards the blue line and the pass gets deflected. End of scoring chance.

That's Shore in a nutshell. No offensive instincts at this level. In the right defensive position at all times, but does nothing with the puck.

Admittedly I focused on our defensive corp and came away confident that we are much better than last season and the future development of Gravel and LaDue will only make us better....

With that said, Shore is a solid defensive player who just isn't good enough to help the bottom 6 in any way. Has you alluded to, he has no offensive instincts and and this point its just a waiting game until Dowd takes his place....

We're like the opposite version of the Oilers in drafting players.We draft guys who can't score and play defense, they draft guys who can score and are defensive liabilities.

Yup, that's about it. But the Kings are good at drafting guys who buy in. Team guys. Makes the team greater than the sum of its parts. We do have the (hockey) trinity though, as Jon Rosen says, so maybe that has something to do with the 2 Cups.

There have been some personnel, player, and player deployment decisions over the last 18 months that have shaken me to my very core. It's very distressing seeing this franchise crumble. The Los Angeles Kings are Rome, Dean is Odoacer, and Sutter is Brutus. They've absolutely lost it. Sad.

Shore's defensive game is so strong, yet Sutter keeps deploying him on the wrong assignments. This is not a player that should be playing offense. He has all the tools to be a dominant defenseman, but none of the people running this team see it. Look at his advanced numbers, he's a beast. I'd swap Shore with Greene. Maybe if Greene was halfway closer to the opposition's net he'd get a puck within five feet of it.

My lines -

Clifford - Kopitar - Brown; If Kopitar wants another Selke he's gonna damn well earn it. 13+11-23 = Clifford and Brown's goal total this season.
Martinez - Carter - Toffoli; Reunite the 70s Line.
Purcell - Lewis - Setoguchi; This line is sponsored by Waste Management because it belongs in a dumpster.
King - Nolan - Andreoff; I call this the 90s line because it feels like these three have been on the team since the 90s.

Shore - Doughty; Doughty loves to talk up Shore's defensive game. There you go bud.
Muzzin - Forbort; Could be a really solid pairing.
McNabb - Gilbert; I call this the Stephen King pairing.
