It doesn’t mean it’s the the only way. It’s just that a structured team would have a much easier time.

We’ve played Simple hockey before. That’s the extent of our “system“. An occasional hiccup/blunder will happen. We will not shut them down completely but hopefully Shesty bails us out of those situations. We rely on individual talent.

I see what you meant now. Yea we have to hope Shesty's and Panarin's play from the last month carries over. If it does I think we will be fine.
 
Look. No series is easy. Carolina would have been no walk in the park. If you are Kreider, Panarin, Zibanejad who have never won and can at least start to sniff the end of the peaks of their careers then there is no excuse. You put in 100% effort and drag everyone to your level. This isn’t some December, Tuesday game against the Blue Jackets.

The Devils are good. Awesome. Go kick their ass

Agreed. Only other way we have better teams is if one or two of the kids become absolute monsters.

Which is silly - they lost in OT in a game where McDavid didnt have a point

The final call was fine, even if they missed one or two for LA; thats how the cookie crumbles sometimes. Ive never said refs cost a team a game unless its a last second, blatantly-wrong call in a what-was even game

This is the first time I've been called an "overly optimistic homer" lol. I guess I'm flattered.

Also, when did I say the Devils were an ECHL team? Holy strawman. I, and surely others, believe we have a better roster on paper, and we have been a better team than them since January 1st. It's an NHL playoff series, idk what the hell is going to happen aside from what I think.

I didn't realize "Rangers in 6" was such a scorching hot take. And if I'm wrong and the Ranger lose, so be it, I'll eat the crow like I have on Panarin (who has been great since about January 1st coincidentally). It's nothing fans of this team haven't dealt with before. I'll be negative when I'm given a reason to be but until then, we are winning the series.

You said the rosters aren't comparable.

You could make the argument the Rangers have a better roster on paper (I think that would be the minority opinion outside of this board), but you can't really make the argument that it's not close in our favor.

The Rangers have a sexier roster if you're just looking at names, but Tarasenko and Kane are complementary players at this stage and our top picks aren't the quality of players that their pedigree implies.

Is that a thing? My "like" button was gone for a while. Came back 2 days ago. Did I get punished and didn't know it? My Dad used to punish me and send me to my room. What did I care? That's where my games, the TV and stereo was. If they wanted to REALLY punish me, they should have made me stay in the LR with them. lol.

A question for anyone who has used MSG Go to stream games: if you start the game late, is it easy to restart from the beginning without seeing the current score?

I'm worried about getting blacked out from the TBS games. Whenever the Rangers were on both TNT and MSG during the season, the game was blacked out on TNT for me even though I am not in MSG's service area. So I got my dad's MSG Go login as a backup in case the TBS feed is blacked out.

I don't think so. The majority of "insiders" are picking the Rangers to win the series despite whatever the Vegas odds are. I don't think that's because they view the Devils as having the superior roster. Athletic, Sporting News, CBS Sports, NYP, THN, etc...

You're relegating guys like Kane and Tarasenko to being essentially role players but that hasn't been something that's been borne out yet by anything factual. It's hard to assess their impact in the limited amount of games they've played and their importance.

You're also diminishing our picks - they were the little engine that could last year and they'll probably end up being the difference this year being another year older and wiser.

But, again, all of this will be settled pretty soon starting tonight.
