I think if a Defender leaves his feet and trips the offensive player, that should be a penalty every single time

They definitely changed the rules a season or two ago to where defensemen who go down are responsible for their trips... Though that may just be stick?

So let's ignore the fact that Couture was already skating toward Brown for like 30 feet.

IMO, it was Brown leaning in to check him but timed it wrong, thus it looks like he's headbutting him.

Once I watched the preseason, and the lack luster Vets play, I immediately dismissed that talk.

Brown/Quick is the only one that looks like it payed off. So I am right there with you.

I think Toffoli actually made a really good shot. He even elevated the puck well, but Jones kept his pad up and stacked his glove while sliding across.
I can't imagine any way Toffoli could have placed the shot better from that close in.

We saw it during the first 5 minutes, then meh. BTW, we've been blown out in the last 3 opening season games so I'm not really that surprised.
