.....F--k Vegas

Perfetti Scheif Wheeler
Connor Dubois Appleton

Bottom stays the same.

Somebody brought up the issue of a line-mate having Perfetti's back being a reason to leave him with PLD. I wonder if Apples might be better suited to that than Wheeler is. Not that he is a tough guy, but he has some size and doesn't seem to me to back down. Not that Wheeler backs down either. He has been willing enough in the past. I just don't quite see him in that role. Not sure if Apples would handle it or not. Just wondering.

Who stated that? I'll be happy if they go with that top 6.

Well, its how they finished last game, so .......

Not sure where the Dom hate is coming from, he was a huge believer in the Jets pre- and during the 2017/18 breakout, and then accurately called out the problems of Jets relying too much on shooting and goaltending afterwards.

I also think where they have Jets in terms are power rankings are just fine, from what I'm looking at as I prep to do a 10gp summary - in the Central, the only obvious team above the Jets are DAL, but then Sh% and mostly Sv% are bubbling them above the mushy middle of NSH, MIN, STL, and surprisingly COL. If I were to base it purely on shot rate and quality, I have Jets just around rank 18-20, but their shooting (Scheifele) and goaltending (Hellebuyck) talent bumps them up about 2-4ish spots.

When Ehlers gets back, hopefully so too will they get back some of that offensive punch that the Jets are badly missing at both 5v5 and on the PP. Could finally open up things up for KC81 to get the monkey off his back, too - then I can see them moving to the top 16 of the league around then.

True but I think strength of schedule should factor into these analysis a bit. Given who we've faced having middling metrics shouldn't be seen as a surprise. It wasn't so much that he ranked them low it was that they provided a one sentence justification that wasn't much of a justification. At least provide more or analysis then "I'm not sure what they are doing". Most other teams got way more in terms or backup verbiage.

Also if it's a purely metric thing then how are the Wild ranked 13th given that they have worse metrics then us and a worse record.

Agree -
I'd like to know why he is ranking them where he has - maybe there are good reasons to support his position - you'd think he'd share that insight - isn't that what he does?

Thanks for GDT, nicely done.

A huge game from Helly would be just the thing to finish the road trip.

Go!:jetsGo!

A huge game from KFC would be a nice companion for that. :thumbu:

Is Logan Thompson legit

I expected F**k Vegas to struggle this year due to goaltending. So far, it is just the opposite. Finding a good starter, undrafted, playing in the ECHL, would be just like the Vegans luck.

Guys, these are power rankings, and one where they tried to have a bit of fun by incorporating Taylor Swift lyrics too. I'm sure Dom, Sean, and Hailey would rather spend time providing some further thought and analysis on their own articles where they can pull on topics they're more well-versed in or on, instead of power rankings where opinions are changing by the day based on whatever number of games was played the previous night.

Here are the Jets rankings in some other recent Power Rankings:
(Oct 24) TSN/Sportlogiq: 26
(Oct 26) The Hockey News: 20
(Oct 27) Sportsnet: 21
(Oct 28) ESPN: 23

Yet apparently it's just Dom/The Athletic that garners the vitriol in the thread? Feels weird to me

Fans will be fans -
I don't think anyone on here is going to lose any sleep over Dom and his ranking - but he'll get a shot every time for ranking a team lower than what some expect / want / demand - LOL.
I think the fans are having a little fun with this also - and it's not necessarily the rank but the comments - and yes, we expect more from our media sometimes - regardless of how much "fun" they might be having.

All in all, no worries - it's not a big deal.

I hadn't seen seen any of the other rankings but seems like no one is giving us any respect. That's fine, I look forward to the team hopefully proving them all wrong.
