I think Samberg-De Melo is PK1, so there's some logic there. Pionk can make plays out there, which might get Morrissey jumping in more rushes. Dillon-Schmidt were good last year. I like have the best skating defensive pairing to matchup against Colorado's speed. Good game to sit Stanley. That's what I was trying to suggest, that unless both get better that's not really a first pair. Even if they were to be sheltered then what, we'd expose Dillon-Schmidt or Samberg-Demelo to those matchups instead?
Morrissey hasn't really elevated Pionk's game in the past and Pionk's game has just been lacking since we left the Canadian division.
I think I just don't like our roster of defensemen. To me there just isn't any good combination of pairs.
