Any idea if Ovechkin's in tomorrow night?....if he's not, Habs might have an outside chance of actually winning.

Don't worry, even without Ovie I'm surre MT will somehow **** up and making a stupid decision to cripple us more

Problem is that Bergevin loves his supposed stability even if it's in mediocrity. That's how he operates and that's freakin scary.

Sometimes I wish I had the connections to try my hand at GMing. I can't be worse than some of the people who have tried their hands at it before.

Plekanec is one of the least soft players are on this team, my goodness. Body checking isn't the only way to be gritty. Plekanec is hard on the puck, battles hard and is always on the defensive side of the puck - that is not soft.

Plekanec is not soft at all... Couris is just a notorious dumb hater.

Hey Couris which C in the league do you want over Plek ? Tell me ?

I almost feel bad having a vested interest in seeing us lose because I think it'll get Therrien fired, which is what I think it'll take to fix this team.

Does that make me a bad person?

If Plekanec is soft, what word would we use to describe Desharnais?

Plekanec is the least problem this team has. Not sure why you responded to that nonsense.

But yes, everyone on this team can be moved for the right price. But the last thing we need to do is replicate the Oilers and offer zero protection for the younger players on this team.

Not about least problem or not. It's about in a rebuilding mode, who can gets you the greatest value. But wouldn't you prefer keeping him to become that team that will be great in 2 or 3 years. I think it's a legitimate question.

Probably because it a four years deal and that even if he not in top shape this year the team was not winning or contend any time soon anyway.
Doesn't make sense. No point in signing the guy who we're watching tonight to a four year deal.

No way.

And MB would have known this had he waited.
If not for Price tonight the score would be 6-1 after the 2nd.
If not for Price we would be drafting top 5.

I am liking Bealieu's development, all talk of trading him should cease.
I agree. Beaulieu has looked good.
If you send Markov, you send a message that you are selling. Fine. Let's do it. I have NO problem over this. I will never believe Bergevin and Therrien will do it....but let's hope it happens somehow. And in a situation like that, I have no problem getting rid of DD too yet, you won't get too much. Problem is that only guy that you could get some return would be Pleks....is he still in play to be traded? I think it's worth seeing what's the value out there. But to a proper rebuild, you still need to unload guys you don't necessarily want to unload...and Pleks might be it.
I have no problem dealing Markov but I think Markov would. I don't think we can move him even if we wanted to.

come on.. plekanek has been one of our most consistent player, plays pk, and he is really good against top opponents (remember when he shut down crosby or toews?) and he always gives his best

without plekanek we would be even worse

wow yes he shutdown Chicago and everyone was screaming Selke!!!....and his line got owned shift after shift in the next games 5v5

Nobody has argued for a rebuild more than me. To a degree I'd be okay with rebuilding but not Pleks... not now.

Five or six years ago we should've gone scortched earth. But right now it doesn't make sense. Change the coach. Deal some picks for good wingers. Maybe sign a decent free agent somewhere...

This team has elite talent in its prime right now. A full scale rebuild should not be in the cards. Not now.
