Hockey cosom is on foot my friend
Cosom Hockey was played in the Gym with plastic sticks when I grew up which is why I asked.
My grade school entered us in a tournament and when we showed up with our Banana Sticks we were the laughing stock.
All the other teams had straight blades and they also had dowels inserted in the shafts for support.
We were able to borrow those sticks from one of the teams and we killed it having only ever used the banana blade with a shaft like a noodle.

Those noodle sticks are cancer. I played once with those and then refused to play with them again. Not worth it i'd rather play some petanque.

I actually thought he looked pretty good in the first 5 games of the year and then he kind of disappeared after that. I'm not too worried yet I just don't see him as a core piece.

I think he makes the most positive impact when it's 4v4 and he can use his skating, he should be clutch in OT too if we ever stop getting blown out

I also see him as a bridge player. He is going to with us for one more season. He will probably be gone when the Beck, Hage , Roy, Demidov and 2025 first round pick join the Habs.

Newhook has battled in the corners and has played a big role in maintaining possession in the offensive zone. He's not soft or ineffective, and as the roster grows in quality, he'll score more goals. I think he's showing both why he was a 1st rounder but also why he wasn't a top10 pick

Agreed...
And yet he's sitting at T-9 in pts & 8th in goals from his draft class.

That's pretty good 5 years in for a guy drafted 16th (with 5 d picked ahead of him).

It will be interesting to see where he sits 5 years from now, as a physically smaller player, I won't be surprised if he's still comfortably one of the top 10 most productive players from the draft class (as he rounds out his man strength & fully adapts to the size & physicality of the NHL).

Newhook's offensive production and play has been horrible this year.

At this point, might as well try him at center. He was good last year with Armia on his wing. Play them together and try to solve two problems in one.

Caufield Suzuki Dvo
Heineman/Roy - Dach - Slaf
Gallagher - Evans - Anderson
Armia - Newhook - Roy/Condotta/heineman

Probably needs to be healthy scratch to wake him up. Mid line forward with 4 goals, zero assists in 19 games? He was high pick in draft and a good college career. Much more skill there

Goes back to what AVS fans said at time of trade. He couldn't play top 6 minutes for them. Despite given many opportunities

Just to offer some perspective from an Avs fan. Newhook was exactly like this as an Avalanche. Not able to hold down a top six spot no matter where or who he played with and kinda useless in the bottom six. These same discussions were had on the Avs board endlessly and most cheered once the trade return was announced.

Hopefully it works out for you guys, but looks like nothing has changed.

Could see him being the one to sit when Laine returns.

Yes, it's been a disappointing first 20 games to the season this year. But he had some good moments last year.

He's horrible at protecting the puck along the wall. I wonder if his speed could make him a good 3c. He was good with Armia last year. But this year, he's even turning the puck over a lot in the middle of the ice.
