I think it's the Frattin part that is odd after all the talk about our Defense needing help. Something like Greene + 2nd/3rd would have been more expected.

I don't dislike Gaborik, but he doesn't fit this team and we don't need him.

You do realize we are currently not in playoff position right? We've been on the outside looking in for quite awhile? I don't see why everyone's acting like being in a dogfight for the last wild card spot is somehow constitutes being in a great position without Gaborik. If anything, a healthy Gaborik down the stretch could of helped us get over that hump.

The Kings aquired Frattin over the summer, he did nothing for them this year and nothing for the Leafs last year. Another ham-and-egg 4th liner added to a team that already has Comeau, Boll, Tropp, D-Mac, Skille, Letstu...we could roll 3 legit fourth lines right now.

Gaborik>then Frattin no matter how you slice it. Even at Gaboriks worse he double the point production in almost half the games. If you dont get a better offer then freakin Frattin, you dont do the trade

I'm not too adverse to the deal. He cleared cap space and picked up some assets that can be used later today or in the offseason. I still think we somehow see a package deal to get a forward and defenseman. I don't know why, but we'll see what happens.

All that matters is winning. Gaborik wasn't going to be here next year. So, if Anisimov can only play with Gaborik, then he should be traded too. Not a smart reason to keep Gaborik.

You guys are still looking at 40 goal gaborik. When healthy, he's barely a 30 goal scorer it looks like right now. I'm not huge on this trade if it isn't a precursor to another, but maybe the guys will stop referring to him for offense. He isn't a fit with the scheme, but he's a good player. Wish him well, but were arguably better without him.
