Confirmed with Link: Gaborik (with 50% Retained) to Kings for Frattin, 2nd, and conditional 3rd

This is embarrassing.

We are in the middle of a playoff fight, better to keep Gaborik (our best offensive player) and let him go and take the cap space in the summer then just dump him for 2 cents on the dollar and hurt our roster during the most important stretch. Awful.

#Kings were looking at #CBJ picking up 50 percent of Gaborik remaining 7.5 M. #NHL

I guess we didn't pick any Gabby's salary? We have all the cap space in the world now.

I don't know how we're gonna win without the guy we kept winning without.

I don't dislike Gaborik, but he doesn't fit this team and we don't need him.

That worries me that we took a 3rd/4th line winger in return, a bigger deal might be in the works. We have tons of guys like him already...

If you say so.

I know you're all about the prospects and picks at the expense of winning but this trade just made us worse for the long run.

You can't build for the future forever. We're within striking distance of the playoffs and the team needs to at least make a decent effort. Trading Gaborik for Picks isn't a "decent effort"

Okay, please, tell me this. IN WHAT WAY DOES THIS TRADE MAKE US WORSE?

We got more than what Edmonton got for Hemsky. Not sure what you guys were thinking we would get, but you clearly think way too highly of Gaborik.

I think it's the Frattin part that is odd after all the talk about our Defense needing help. Something like Greene + 2nd/3rd would have been more expected.

At least we don't have to re-sign Frattin (RFA)

Some of you make no sense at all. How does trading a guy we have won without, hurt our playoff chances. This didn't hurt our chances or help them. IT DID NOTHING.

Something tells me Jarmo is not done. We have too many Matt Frattins to add another. Loui Eriksson anyone?

...Really?
I would imagine that the Jackets aren't done yet. Say, if we move one of those picks for someone like Cammy, it'd make a ton of sense in the long run.

Not the price I was hoping for, but the above sums up my feelings exactly.
