Nash for Gaborik
Brass for Anisimov
Dorsett for Dubinsky
Moore forf Erixon
3rd and Delisle for 1st

I know that's not how it works but I can't help it. Personally, I prefer Nash to Gaborik but it's hard not to see this as a win.

Dorsett is replaceable. The winning streak happened after his injury and other players stepped up. Calvert is a similar player with much more skill and far less stupid penalties.

Moore may pan out, but there's depth at defense. Golo, Moore and Erixon are all very similar. Murray will be above all of them on the depth chart next season. Someone had to go. They can't develop all those defensemen at the same time.

In the long run, the trade probably goes in NYR's favor, but I like this in the short term.

For a team building for the future, I don't understand why we make trades for today and not tomorrow.

Very sad to see Dorse go. Heart and soul guy, his good attitude was infectious. Glad about Gaborik (and my Rangers fan co-worker says we got the better end of the deal)... but will miss Dorse.

I agree. I think we also traded a 6th to the NYR in the Gaborik trade.

We didn't. We still have Murray, Jenner, and all 3 of our 2013 first round draft picks. We didn't trade any of our top assets for the future.

I considered Moore and Dorsett as cogs to the future. Not huge pieces, but necessary. Not too big on losing Moore, but Im really upset we let go of Dorse.

I'm almost speechless.

Sucks to see Brass and Dorse go, and would have really liked to have seen Moore reach his potential with us, but wow. Marian Gaborik.

Dorsett is replaceable and probably already has been replaced by the guys we currently have.

Love Dorse, but his days have been numbered here for a while. Redundant. He will be a good add for the Rangers, though. They need more toughness, and he will bring it.

We traded guys who were likely going to be traded in the next year or so anyway and kept all of our first round picks. Be happy.

Guys like Gaborik are hard to acquire. Guys like Moore, Brassard and Dorsett are not. Simply put, great trade by Kek.

Nash for Gaborik
Brass for Anisimov
Dorsett for Dubinsky
Moore forf Erixon

What these guys side. Everyone was belly-aching about roster space after the Letestu signing...well, Letestu is your 3rd line center, Arty/Johan are 1st and 2nd...no space for Brass...Letestu much cheaper...and guess what, now we have that roster space (Comeau only has this year on his contract).
