If Brassard is on the third line , he'll be playing out of his ability. He is not capable of playing a checking role and is below average in the faceoff circle. This is exactly why he was expendable. He 's a tweener--not good enough offensively to be a top 6 forward and not good enough defensively to play on a checking line.

This. Plus with a $3.2 Mill cap hit the next 2 years. Glad we moved him.

From my view. This trade is a win for the cbj and may be a win for the rags. The brass of last night is a guy that shows up twice a season, it is a glimpse at what could have been if not for the shoulder issues however we all know brass doesn't do well in a rigid system which is the only way torts plays ( like hitch). If the rags can develop moore and can figure out brass they have done well in this trade. We on the other hand gave up redundant pieces for a scorer while keeping our 3best first rounders and our 2nd and third round pigood job jkcks.

Sens fans here.

Some combination of how poorly the Blue Jackets did last year, combined with how well they are doing now along with all the big splashes they made at the trade deadline, has lead me to rooting for the ol' CBJ.

Let's go Jackets! (That's a chant you guys do right? Cool.) :yo:

Plenty of room on our bus..

Lets Go Jackets!!! it is, and the more fans the better. I am very excited to have a talent like Marian Gaborik on our team. We have played in so many games this year that were decided by 1 goal. Gabby gives us the sniper we will need to begin winning more of these games, Good luck to Brass Moore & Dorse. Kinda expecting to resign Dorse at a later date after he takes a couple bad penalties in an important game.

Just waiting to see how long it takes JK to bring Erik Karlsson :sarcasm: Erik was very satisfied with hes time in Jarmo's former team Jokerit, and it was a good catch for Jokerit as they beat Frölunda in race for Karlsson. Maybe he has good relationships with Erik :P

I find it amusing that this trade essentially undoes the previous trade for both clubs.

I think I disagree with this.

Both clubs got a prospect D man (Erixon is doing better now, 5 years from now we'll see) so call that a wash.

That leaves AA and Dubi for Brass and DD. Now I love me some DD as much as anyone else but both AA and Dubi bring more to the table for actual skill. Plus with Dubi, JMFJ, and co stepping up as leaders DD became a bid redundant there too. SO we improved over DD (honestly fan love aside). Brass has the skill to be a legit top 6 but he only finds it so often. Consistency is a huge issue. Meanwhile AA has been bringing that every night. He's also better on the draw and defensively.

Summary:
In the swap we improved our hardworking nature and defensively with the players we picked up. Plus we got a 1st round draft pick so we haven't undone that Nash trade at all.

Note this is all the CBJ perspective.

We have our next DD in the of Boone Jenner, except Boone has more percieved skill than DD. We just dont know if Boones skill will translate to the NHL.

With so many players in common, the Jackets are easily my second favorite team.

But, we're in the same division next year.

This is going to get awkward pretty fast.

Cally and Dubi will be lining up against one another.
Step vs Artie on the faceoff
God, Hank never stops Gabby.
I hope nobody hits Prospal.

Boone also doesn't fight much. If there's anybody in our system who could be the next Dorsett it's Josh Anderson.

Was literally gonna say the exact same thing. I think we'll see a Dorsett type player drafted in a later round too.

Maybe I should have picked a different qualifier than "essentially."

Dalton Smith is another potential Dorsett (or Boll) replacement. 110 PIM for Springfield this season. But he's rather limited in scoring potential.

If Dalton Prout remains in the line-up, then he's a heavyweight who can drop the gloves if needed. But if he's a top 4 defensemen, losing him for 5 minutes puts them at a disadvantage.
