For (3), I’d argue goaltending is probably closer to 80% of the problem. Fleury’s got something like -7 goals saved above expected.1. No more buyouts. We have enough dead cap as it is.
2. The last thing you do is bring Wallstedt up and destroy his confidence and progress with the shit show in front of him. He needs at least a year in Iowa. Never rush a goalie.
3. The goaltending is only half of our problems.
We're resting our 4th line for the postseason.![]()
Why? He already played two seasons in a better league. He needs at least a year in Iowa.

Good then we get bedard. This is a matter of emergency. Has to be fixed very soon, or we could be done this season by December.
If Russo wants to be taken seriously, he needs to ask Evason straight up about Rossi.
Last year Talbot was -17.5. It didn't look this bad because the defense was very good. Now both are bad and it looks MUCH worse!Agreed - I don't think people realize to the extent that goaltending makes defense look bad. Not only has Fluery not made any high danger saves, but his rebound control on non-high danger saves has compounded situations.
Can we trade those future considerations back for Kulikov?
Great post sir. Totally agreePutting young developing players in to the dog booth is a slippery slope. There’s a risk of turning them into players that dread mistakes and use all their concenration on playing the ”right way” and kill all the creativity in their game. Evason is a dinosaur and I for one hate how he treats some of the players, while looking the other way for others.
Moneypuck has him at a -5.8 GSAE last year (-0.121 per 60), Fleury was actually -17.6 GSAE last year (4th worse in the league).Last year Talbot was -17.5. It didn't look this bad because the defense was very good. Now both are bad and it looks MUCH worse!
Talbot is injured right now.Moneypuck has him at a -5.8 GSAE last year (-0.121 per 60), Fleury was actually -17.6 GSAE last year (4th worse in the league).
Giving Fleury that extra year pissed off Talbot and forced us to get rid of the better goalie. I'd be a lot more comfortable if we could lean on Talbot right now rather than Gus.
i don't know what our biggest problem is but im looking at #fire deaner. imagine hemi / bedard / zucc !
im talking the start of next season, feel free to dream bigger. (who can we afford?)
