Serious question, can you have a player standing behind the bench in a suit? Is there a rule against it?
My quick dig into the cba/Google I don't see anything that inherently prevents it....

Tricky part would be the cap. They would either need to get no salary as a coach, or the salary for coach would count against the cap. You'd think there would be something in their given there are similar things happening in the past.

Doug Harvey was a player/coach in the 60s. He played a full time role while doing it.

Nanne played, coached and GMed in 78 for the North Stars. Although only coach and GM were at the same time(retired to become front office).

Lemieux in the post lockout was an Owner/Player. He had to give up his board of governor's voting power and wasn't allowed to be apart of the NHLPA(but still has to pay dues).

Freddy can play center between MoJo and Boldy.
Trenin goes to replace Freddy on the fourth line, Öhgren plays in Trenins spot on the third.

It's a multi-game/multi-city road trip. If there is any doubt about JEE, send Wally down and bring up an insurance FWD,

Concussion protocol isn't that long. He had the rest of the 2nd and intermission to sit out....he did one shift in the 3rd and left the game.

You're assuming the wild did concussion protocol. The time he was out is more like they stitched him up, slapped on a shield and got him back out there.

There are league employed concussion spotters at every game (don't answer to the Wild) that can pull a player at anytime.

Given he only played one shift where nothing notable happened, a likely scenario is the concussion spotters said "wtf is he doing out there, pull him and evaluate him".

Definitely a rough call against us with Brodin receiving the penalty there.. Just couldn't hold them back tonight like we should have. Tough loss and need to come back stronger tomorrow night. We know games are always tons of fun for us in Winnipeg.

So weird watching this team. So much optimism because of Boldy and at the same time so much malaise because they will continue to be the MN wild and never put anything together.

The PK is such a joke right now. Everyone flat footed trying to get sticks in lanes instead of pressuring the puck.

The fact the PK somehow looks worse than it did last year is concerning. The cross-ice/seam passes to a 1 timer are wide open. Lots of standing around flatfooted.

The only explanation is this is the new system , this is coaching not player failure. I don’t get it.

That call on Brodin was one of the worst I’ve seen. One of my biggest issues with officials in any sport is when they didn’t get a clear look at something and then invent what happened. If you plain missed it, own that and move forward. The JEE play seconds before fits that. I get it, that’s not the easiest thing to see live if you’re not right there. Inventing something as you try piece together the aftermath is not the job. Just smacks of plain arrogance which is a real problem with many of the current NHL officials the last several years.

This team cannot sustain JEE out long term so will be interesting so see how that shakes out.

Boldy looks great so far. If he’s on the ice playing at this level he’s going to flirt with 100pts.

Fleury looks terrible. Will come up the odd play of his past but I don’t think you can win with him over the course of the season. Just do not understand the decision to bring him back and screw around with this 3 goalie rotation.

Not sure what we do about MAF. With the PK as shaky as it is, it places an even higher emphasis on the goalie playing at a high level.

Carrying 3 goalies is going to be complicated. I would feel better running with just Gus and Wallstedt, but the only way to do that is to waive or trade MAF, right? And neither of those options seem likely, as least not yet.
