It doesn’t make any sense to me, he left Nashville because he wasn’t getting any NHL time just to be in the same situation in SJ..
With Nashville, it was because they signed Saros to an 8-year extension (plus the one had remaining on his prior deal) with a full No Movement Clause. They basically said "you will not be the Starter" and then did the Shock Pickachu face that he asked to be traded somewhere where he was not actively blocked for almost decade.

Couldn’t agree more. Nashville forced his hand. One of the worst decisions in recent years.
