Do you guys think going straight to the AHL is better for him than going back to Finland for a year or two?

To be honest, even going back to Sudbury would be a good option. Goalies need time. I'd prefer him to stay in North America now that he's here - but not sure the AHL is the best move - he needs to play a ton of games. Maybe an ECHL/AHL combined schedule to make sure he gets 50 games.

No I don't believe in him going back to Sudbury for an overage year , he is ready for pro.

Sudbury was awful, watch what should happen when he plays for a team that is somewhat compatible defensively. Though he is with the Sabres organization so..

Yes. Part of the reason he came to play in CHL was to adjust to smaller rinks. AHL is his next stop for sure. I doubt he'll return to Finland unless he fails to establish himself as an NHLer.

Seems everyone stopped talking about him completely after his great year in the OHL and strong WJC. Thought he should have maybe went back to Finland for a year but had a good year in the ECHL and had some limited AHL games as well where he was below average. Hopefully he is up in the AHL full time next year to get some confortability and consistency with one team.

Luukkonen loaned to TPS.
TPS's starting goalie Rasmus Tirronen is injured and Luukkonen replaces him for next 4-6 weeks.
When Tirronen is recovered and back Luukkonen's situation and loan with TPS will be re-evaluated again.

TPS has a well-deserved reputation for developing goaltenders (most recently the Rangers' Alexandar Georgiev).
