Why is he signing month to month ? Wouldn’t be so bad to spend a full year on TPS.

TPS already has two good goalies, makes no sense for Luukkonen to stay there once Tirronen returns from his injury.

Well it wasn't his debut in Liiga, but good performance from UPL. Both goals conceded were from breakaway. He also was penalised for kicking the net off it's moorings and that led to 5 on 3 situation. He and the team were able to kill those penalties and UPL got assist for the goal that started the comeback for his team. Overall really solid game from him.

Yeah...didn't notice that, he had 1 game few years ago
thou..he only played 30 mins in that game...so...technically not a debut but
really was his true debut.

It's more that he has to play since now Anderson, Subban, and Tokarski are all on IR. They had wanted to let him work on his game in the AHL after a rougher than desired camp, but it seems they're backed into a corner.

And he's been fantastic in the AHL. He's ready for the call-up

Quality start tonight for UPL. Figures that the Sabres would forget how to score entirely the second they got a goalie who wouldn't leave them needing to score 7 to win.

Yep, he looked solid tonight. This was the calm version, square to the shooter and being in good position. He got beat on a GOTY candidate and a deflection. If they could get 2.00 GA most nights, they'd be so much more competitive.

He hasn’t strung together weeks of consistency. He started rough, had a couple of better games, had another clunker, one player of the week honors, and followed that up with a couple for clunkers. He has been very inconsistent.

He started badly and then was lights out. I think he has been fine since then and that the team in front of him has played badly, they allow a lot of high-quality chances against him, so stat watching is not reflective of his play. That's been demonstrated in his NHL appearances so far. All pretty good.

I have the AHL package just to watch the Amerks and he did improve off his first few starts - his player of the week award was similar level of play to how he's been on his recall. That said, he did have a couple clunkers after that too. He's young, he's learning. The growth has been excellent and most welcome since the team had a need and he's filled it well.

4 starts this season so far and a true 2GA average is pretty neat. That stat line will inevitably change, but still, it’s hopefully giving the group some confidence going into a game rather than thinking they have to score 7 goals just to get into OT

Nice to see patience pay off when developing a prospect goalie. Instead for rushing him (and potentially destroying his confidence) they've let him learn the NA style game and now that he's ready he's doing great. (Of course sample size is small, and there'll be disappointments, but the start is convincing).
