Obviously putting on a little weight would help but Ryan Miller is listed at 6'2 170. Murray's listed at 6'4 178.

Murray looks like he weighs 178 with pads on. Goalies absolutely don't need bulk, but he's a stick. I'm not concerned that it'll be an issue, but still.

From what i remember he eats like a horse and has always remained extremely tall and skinny. Definitely not that size by choice which is even more weird

My old roommate is the same way, a quick metabolism and a position that burns a ton of calories will make it extremely difficult for him to gain weight and retain it...but again, I doubt it'll be an issue unless he's prone to catching mono every year.

For anyone interested, today Murray broke the AHL rookie record for shutouts with his league-leading 10th of the season. This after breaking the AHL record for consecutive shutout minutes earlier in the season.

He's now 21-8-3 with a 1.56 GAA and a .941 SV%.

His goaltending partner, Jeff Zatkoff, is 14-13-4 with a 2.43 GAA and a .906 SV%.

I was at the game tonight and he was barely tested. That D group on that WBS Penguins team isn't fair for the AHL. He was leaving juicy rebounds in the 1st. Settled in after that but everything was from the perimeter.

1) He did make a couple of great saves early when the Phantoms were pressing. One or two of them were because of bad rebound but he made a nice recovery to stop the 2nd chance

2) " Lehigh Valley outshot the Penguins 15-3 in the third period, but not a lot of second shots or prime scoring chances."

That's what I was getting at and I posted as much on the Flyers board: http://hfboards.mandatory.com/showpost.php?p=99520507&postcount=459

His stats on the year are very good though.

Good for Murray, hope he stays in the AHL next year though as a fulltime starter with Zatkoff backing him up and Jarry in the ECHL getting prime starts, or else backing up Murray and i dunno what will happen to Zatkoff then.

WBS have 11 games left I wonder if he can tie the record of 13 shutouts by LaBarbera.

Man i should be scout... Saw him when he played u18 wc years ago and i thought he was/going to be amazing.

Likelihood we see him back up MAF next year? Greiss is not signed beyond 2014/15 season.

0%.. he is 20 years old and finishing up his rookie season. IMO, he will be in the AHL for a few years still. No point what so ever having him in NHL rarely playing

11th Shutout for Murray, 6 games left and I'm guessing he plays 4 of them so tying the record of 13 could be possible.

Talking to myself but Murray notches his 12th shutout of the year against the Phantoms (30 saves) and unsurprisingly was named to AHL All-Rookie team.

Hope he gets the record, needs 2 more! Excited by him, hope he can be an awesome NHL goalie for us when Fleury is done here. Then we still got Tristan Jarry waiting aswell, maybe he can dominate the AHL aswell.
