Was more of a dream situation for Gillies, considering no other team in the league was desperate enough to play him and Gillies was making nearly 4x his AHL salary while playing in the NHL despite having no business being in the league.

Gillies is awful, but given some injuries he's had, and that he seems like a good guy, I'm glad he at least got into some NHL games this year, got the chance to play and make a bit of money. I always like to see guys at least get their cup of coffee.

Playing goalie for NJ this past season was a no-win proposition.

Hard to recall an NHL team that was less accountable in its own end of the ice.
