Yup.. got his cup of coffee and moved on to a very nice career. He wasn't passing those three at that time.. however, later on, he was pretty comparable to those 3.

Garon was probably the most touted prospect to be honest, but he had the worst career out of all those guys.

Vokoun was probably the most consistent out of the bunch. Theodore had the best peak. Hackett was solid.

Against the Legion of doom Flyers in their barn, I will never forget it: Montreal Canadiens vs. Philadelphia Flyers Box Score: February 6, 1997 | Hockey-Reference.com

...which is kind of similar to what we threw Dobes into these 2 games and he responded with incredible poise.

You can tell with dobes' body language that he has swagger.

He is very compeitive and not afraid of the moment.

Watching him play, it looks like he is just on the verge of hyperactivity in the net, but he doing just enough to stay in control. You can tell he's tremendously athletic and I wonder when things get tougher for him whether he will instinctively rely on that athleticism to reel his game back, which would probably be counterproductive.

It could be argued today that Montreal has one of the best G pipelines going

Dobes looks like Hasek for 5 glorious games
Monty is on Team Canada next month
Fowler has the potential to be better than both

Obviously, this is a temporary thing but right now I'd be feeling good if I were a Habs fan. Dobes has to come down to earth eventually. Completely unsustainable but I hope he can continue to get starts and develop. Real nice Czech bonus in a shitshow of a season for the Czechs.lol

They also have Yevgeni Volokhin, he's a rookie in the KHL this year and after some adjustments is playing much better for Sochi.

Habs have an exceptional goalie pipeline ...even Primeau has reset in Laval. Although I suspect he'll be traded.
Dobes kind of came back down to earth vs the Rags, but this kid is mentally resilient and came up big (OT) when he needed to, and habs won.

Within three years it will be Dobes and Fowler I believe

Hackett was better than solid. He did not get enough credit for the performances he put up with the Habs. Sure, it was near the height of clutch and grab but his abilities were underappreciated. Take off his first 4 years with the Islanders (like I mean there's a reason they were consistently one of the worst teams in the NHL) and he puts up #1 caliber stats.

Yeah, he was good, especially for his period in chicago and Montreal.

I didn't mean solid in a bad way.
