I wonder if we'll see an adjustment there for game 5, with some more pressure defending those point shots. Those have been the killers the last 2 games, and Helle is probably the best high danger chance goalie in the league to counteract any bad side effects.
You have to give credit to Neighbours on the go ahead goal. That was a helluva tip.
It's funny because you read somewhere on here that Helle was too far out in his crease this game to allow those pucks by him but the games before I thought Helle was too deep in his net, giving up too much.
And then you hear the analysts quoting Montgomery as saying he is trying to anticipate what he thinks Arniel is going to do. So maybe the Jets are being outcoached in a chess match.
Hard to say. Win a board battle and don't break down in coverage and you finish the 1st period 1-0 ahead. I remember looking at the shot clock in the 2nd and saying Jets are outshooting the Blues 17-9 so far, they are outplaying them, and it looked a lot like game #2 and I believe it was shot #10 that went in and the Blues never looked back as the Jets unravelled.
But if you are Arniel what do you do?
Blues top 4 defense better than Jets last 2 games.
Offensively the team is challenged. No secondary forwards seem capable of scoring Perry/Kane type goals. Go to the net get knocked down, no penalty. Stick in the throat to our best player, no penalty.
So maybe the defensive shell is all Arniel can coach now, hope for mistakes.
If Suter comes back in for Tucker maybe the Blues 3rd pairing gets exposed by our speed. But there isn't Ehlers or Kupari's speed out there in this series. And the fast guys on the Jets like Appleton couldn't score if their life depended on it. There's not enough scoring talent on this team. Grind it out I guess, hope for the best. And play your best against the Blues and clearly biased refs.
