You stopped far too short in your response.

See, if I was the Captain of my team and I had earned the Conn Smythe, I would have gone, collected the Conn Smythe without acknolwledging anyone, taken it back to the locker room and destroyed it in front of my team. I want to win but more importantly I want my team to win, these guys in the room with me to win, the logo I got on the front of my sweater to win, I want buy-in, things like that is how you get it from others. It sends a message. If I'm McDavid and if everything I do is criticized whether its good, bad or parkay, I would start doing things like that. I wouldn't have to look for the missing pieces of our puzzle at that point, they would come looking for us.

I'm on a mission and everything I do is not as important as getting everyone on the same page and on that same boat. I would use the moment to build hunger into the team. Hell, it's Connor's team. I sure as hell wouldn't be in the locker room feeling sorry for myself, consoling others on the failed attempt at getting the Cup. That sends the wrong message.

They should be angry and determined to go back at it and win. That's what I want to see this year.
Your little fantasy of bringing the trophy back to smash it some real juvenile unhinged garbage.

Your only experience in leadership is picking teams in gym class.

Did the McDavid crying thread get taken down, or does HF of all places have too much class to make fun of it?

I dunno man, he seemed very passionate when he was dominating the Canucks and everyone else in the playoffs and literally broke a Gretzky record.

I saw him claw back into a series and compete at the highest level in game 7, this just post just reeks of desperation and envy. McDavid is the best player in the league by a mile, I genuinely hate the Oilers but even I can admit that. If Draisaitl wasn't so badly injured they probably win the cup.

But such a salty post lmao, citing JT Miller when McDavid destroyed Miller in the playoffs is certainly a choice.
Did you miss the end of game 5 when McDavid blew his coverage and allowed the winning goal to Miller?

Im not the one playing the tough guy act online

So what, hes emotional and sucks at public speaking. Grow up - people busting in here wouldnt do shit if in his position, they just talk it
No one's playing any act, I made a statement of what I thought and it has annoyed some folks, including you. If anything, you're playing the tough guy on, of all things, a Forum. Calm down, bro.

As for my question, it wasn't sarcasm, it was legit. If you're a pro or former pro, I would LOVE to hear your opinion/experience with it.

You can think its that - or you can maybe self-reflect for even a second and realize what you and others have said is ridiculous lmfao

Me and others just enjoy calling it out as the act that it is. Dont have to be a pro athlete to see it; just an adult

They're one of the few teams to come back from down 0-3 in the Finals. It worked.

You can tell more than half this board really hasn't played any organized sports ever in their life either lol.

People yell at each other in freaking beer league games I've been in, no one clutches their pearls.

In 10-15 years you're not even going to be allowed to raise your voice because a bunch of pansies will protest and demand it not be allowed. Their 3 year olds will also be walking all over them.

Hard to believe that this is a professional sports athlete acting like this. This is usually how kids act when Mommy doesn't buy them ice cream.

Well that's not good enough, wah wah. No wonder why none of the players were listening to him. If you want your teammates to listen to you then maybe don't act like a 3-year-old.

And this is being a baby too. So what. Great athletes do that kind of thing, it's part of giving a shit to the point where you're just not happy to be there.

These are the two best players of this era.

Then again Flames fans are also the same fanbase that tried to make "Whiner Wayne" a thing for like a decade straight for Wanye Gretzky, now they applaud like seals everything he shows up to any NHL event.

Neither are professional sports.

Pretty sure that's not correct, lol. They may be a heightened reality, but it's real events occuring to real people, not something scripted in the head of a screenwriter.

People think sports speeches and the dialogue during sporting events are like something out of Braveheart or Any Given Sunday ... that's Hollywood bullshit, not real life. Real life is a lot messier and uglier and not as glossy.

I would have punched Corey Perry if I was McDavid. It was all his fault. He brought that go to finals every year and lose curse to Edmonton
