It's not even entertainment. He is organized, personable and willing to spew out the tripe necessitated by the sponsors/contests/etc. I hardly think he's great, but I think we have a weird concept of what an in-arena host's job is. What I do know is this -- on the rare occassions when Todd has been out, his replacements have been even worse.

well said. MT is a nice enough guy, seems to do okay enough...I'm just not sure what else I'd expect of the arena host. Sure, he's a little 'folksy' but this is Columbus OH, midwest USA

To me, it's really white noise anyway...I rarely pay much attention to the hosting activities and if I do, they tend to leave my mind shortly after it's over so it just doesn't bother me much.

I don't get the Mike Todd hate, sure he's a bit weird, but his job is to be entertainment, and although its not really my style of entertainment, he does a good job.

I've been to several other NHL arenas and have concluded Todd is an embarrassment to our fine city.

....and Mike Todd: bumbling, embarrassing yokel, is off-limits? Got it.

If the franchise wants to improve the arena experience and shake the "cowtown" image, then replacing Todd is long overdue.

The biggest problem with the FSOhio is that they show Reds games instead of the Jackets games if you live near Cincy. I guess at this point there's no legal way to watch the game. It's frustrating

That's your cable providers problem not FSO. FSO provides an alternate channel.

not sure if I read correct, but I liked Jim Day, didn't really care for John Michels (but knowing how FSO handcuffed them, I didn't give him enough credit), and liked Natalie...I could give or take Mike Todd, but he's a decent guy and does a good job with what he has to do...

Doesn't bother me any, just be careful whom you quote when you're going to take the whole forum to task.

And, in fairness (and I'm not going to do the research), it's highly possible you've got many folks complaining about both. It's pretty difficult to do a "good for the goose..." commentary in a forum with a whole bunch of individuals.

This season, instead of Todd doing all the intros, etc, for between-action stuff, they sometimes had one of the Pepsie girls do them. Her voice was much too shrill to be amplified throughout the arena and it made me crazy! Didn't anyone running the entertainment side ever listen? It was painfully unintelligible and annoying. I understand having another voice involved, but there had to be another young woman available with a more suitable tone.

Agreed, pete. At the very least someone should have been turning the treble down on her mic. Which wouldn't have solved only mitigated the issue. Yes, if they're going to have a co-host, it needs to be someone else.

nope...i made the comments a couple of times when I got the game ops ears...they had no issues with her voice...Kallie is a nice girl, but yeah, her voice goes right thru me...but same thing goes for her, she did what she could based on what she was told to do...
