Interesting article. I can't stand the guys from Carolina. They mis-pronounce way too many players names (I think they call the Rangers coach John Tortella or something). To each his/her own I guess...

Exactly! Myself, I prefer to watch the games with the sound off.
Exactly! This is an opinion piece, design to stir conversation. There is certainly no right or wrong, it's quite a matter of personal preference. Myself, I prefer to watch the games with the sound off.
How many people here actually believe this?
And I prefer WINNING. Nothing is more entertaining than watching your team win.
Then why all this fuss (not necessarily from you) about the friggin TV broadcast?

I think it's because if we can't be excellent on the ice, we should at least try to be excellent on the airwaves (this comment applies way more to television than radio)
You don't care if the organization is excellent on radio?

It's already pretty damn good on radio. Not perfect, but pretty damn good.
I could not disagree with you more.
Likewise. It's literally directly responsible for my being a hockey fan. And while there are some posters who would resent it for that very reason, I wouldn't suspect DSL to be one of 'em.Seriously? I love the radio call.

My issues with the radio broadcast are well-documented. People have agreed and disagreed. I'm fine with that even if I don't get it.
I'm going to assume that the reason(s) both of you like the radio call is not because of its ability to provide an accurate description of the action taking place on the ice. I'm also going to assume you also like overuse of non-descriptive words and catch phrases that sound like they were made up by that "boom goes the dynamite" kid.
can't believe how much love natalie is getting in this thread. I thought she was awful, ignorant, annoying, and unattractive. I'm sure she's a nice lady. But she's not cut out to be the CBJ in-arena reporter.

We're not allowed to criticize her because she's a lady.

I'm perfectly okay with her being the reporter for FSN OHIO, but she should never wear a plaid suit again.
