I know the Ritchie family, Dan Ellis' mother was my teacher in high school, I used to play hockey with Aaron Downeys brother or cousin(can't remember which) and my mom is good friends with Scott Hannans mom. I also used to play shinny with Dale Hawerchuk a few times a week as well as golf once in a while with him too. That guy can fire a puck holy ****, you'd have to see it to believe it.

Marc-Edouard Vlasic stayed at my Godfather's during his time with the Remparts. We're still in touch with him. He's doing great, still with the same girl he met during his time in Quebec City.

Fun fact : he says that Logan Couture is the man with the best ability to score overall - both on and off the ice - in the entire league. Supposedly, he's/it's quite something

I played on a team with Mike Del Zotto and Sam Carrick way back in middle school. Way back before then I played atom with Tyson Barrie and Landon Ferraro.

Also played against most of the top 90/91 guys from Ontario...Hall, Duchene, Pietrangelo, Hodgson, Pirri, Seguin (92 but he played up). Pretty cool to see so many past opponents in the NHL, and a bit of a testament to the strength of the GTHL/OMHA.

ohhhh I really want to know who it is

181 2014.

I obviously have no way to confirm it's him, but we started off by talking about hockey (his name had "hockey" in it while most people on that game barely know about that) and Canada vs Russia and all that. The OHL was brought up, and he mentioned how he knew someone on the London Knights. I asked him who, and he said a guy who isn't exactly a high-end prospect. I told him that was my OHL team, and that he jokingly said "he's dust compared to me tbh". I pressed him for where he played, what team, and when he said MODO I was surprised. Then I asked if he was at the WJC 2015, and I guessed the player. I pressed him for most of the details, and he knew most of the things a hockey player would. We talked about the Sabres (lot of prospects, etc), World Juniors. I asked him how he has time for this game, and he said he was out with a concussion from an elbow to the corner (can anyone confirm) for 1-2 weeks. Can anyone confirm? Anyways, I doubt the average guy would have known all that on this game.

I'm 60/40 that it's him.

EDIT: He also asked if I could give him (a lot of) money in the game, and I finally did when he promised he would pay it back. I haven't seen him since so....

Mackinnon played under the same coaches in Bantam as I did, my new team practiced immediately after them so I got to go out and set up pilons and watch an underager tear apart kids 2 years older than him twice a week.

PLayed against Mackinnon is highschool. Think he was like 15 I was 17? Safe to say my GAA that game was looking like Ben Scrivens

One of my friends in university went to school with Anthony Duclair. They played AAA soccer together. Apparently, Duclair was dominant in soccer too.

Played against McDonagh, Stepan, Gardiner, Anders Lee, Jordan Schroeder and a couple more im sure I'm forgetting while growing up in the Twin Cities. Schroeder was the best .... Until McDonagh grew up. Stepan isn't a flashy player and was something of a late bloomer.

Also Met Stan Mikita once at the Excel Enrergy Center and he was a great guy. Strongest handshake I can remember ....

I know one current NHL player, a former assistant coach.

I grew up down the street from Tom Fergus-very nice guy. He would let us neighborhood kids play on his backyard rink in the winters.

One of my buddies in my platoon said he's cousins with Kyle Palmieri, but I don't really believe it.

Another kid in my platoon played high school hockey with Charlie Coyle. I have confirmed this.

Sister is friends with Marcus Foligno. (I went to elementary, middle, and high school with him but never got to know him. He was a year older than I.)

Father was best friends growing up with Dino Ciccarelli. (Who for the record, is actually a pretty good guy overall.)
